“Bleep Blop” the ambulance pulls into the anxious pit, full of doctors ready to thrive on a patient. “ more than ten people fell off the shortstop bridge” the emt tells  as the adrenaline runs through my veins as i wonder who's my patient. The emt pulls the gurney out of the ambulance  two people stuck between a pole. Blood gushes out of john doe as he’s filled fear not knowing if he'll live or die. “6,000 times a year a doctor leaves a sponge or medical device inside the patient's body”.   Thats right you guessed another doctor not just any doctor but an emergency physician! Physician and doctor have the same meaning so don't worry.  While we’re on the subject let's find out what exactly a emergency physician or doctor really does. Emergency physicians often treat patients who have life-threatening conditions. “Their main job functions are to resuscitate or stabilize the  patients and refer them to the appropriate medical departments”.Emergency physicians must evaluate a large amount of reasons  sometimes with out any information. They must be able to think and act quickly to make a diagnosis and determine the appropriate treatment.

The salary of  an emergency physician can vary from $222,378 to $305,630. Wow! Yes thats a lot of money in just one year. They have benefits too? There are many different benefits given to emergency doctors or anyone in the medical field  such as: family medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage. Life insurance for yourself and your spouse. Malpractice coverage just in case I leave a sponge inside of you I’ll be covered. Phew! Don't forget the benefit of flexible savings plans.

The first step to become an emergency doctor is getting an undergraduate premedical degree. Which includes the study of chemistry physics and biology. A doctoral graduate degree which takes 4 years of medical college to complete. The first two years are weighted towards academic instruction that the students will need in the practice of medicine. The third and fourth years are spent in clinic rotations and exposure to major branches actually treating real live patients. After all that time you will graduate and be examined to practice individually.

The major degree for being in the medical field and the position i'm reaching for is a doctorates degree. There are many colleges offering a doctorates degree but i have only chosen 4 out of about a good 20.Harvard University was ranked first among best colleges in 2011 by U.S. In the same year, Harvard Medical School also ranked number one as a medical research institution and 15th for primary care, as designated by USN&WR.

In conclusion being a doctor is the easiest job.Making more than a thousand dollars a year. There are many colleges that support doctorates degrees. I just love to help people. Making others lives better. What better way could it be. That's why i chose this job. I grew up learning that helping is giving and that's the right thing to do.  When i was 10 I dreamed to be a judge but i realized the better of being a doctor. Not just any doctor but an emergency doctor that's where all the action is.
