Career in the Water
Almost three fourths of the planet Earth is covered in water, and the majority of that water has animal species living in it. Those who study those animals from the smallest of plankton, to the largest of whales, are Marine Biologists. Even though there are some requirements and risks a Marine biologist has, they also have some pretty good benefits which is why I think a Marine Biologist is the best job to offer.
Travel for work and vacation
One reason why being a Marine Biologist is a good job is the benefits you would get from the career. Some of those benefits is traveling to different places around the world for work, or vacation. Another benefit is medical insurance, or a good retirement plan, like a 401k (“How to Become a Marine Biologist | eHow”). Also, if you want to continue your education, you can go back to school to get a bachelor's degree or a doctorates degree. And finally, if you just started on this job, you would have a starting payment of $33,254 a year (“How to Become a Marine Biologist | eHow”).
Swimming with the sharks
Though being a marine biologist is a very good job, what comes good, comes bad. Some of the risks that are known for marine biologist is marine life. Like aggressive animals, or predators that are hungry. Another known danger is the weather. Weather can affect the water flow, putting marine biologists that are diving at risk of getting lost in the ocean (“How to Become a Marine Biologist | eHow”). And speaking of getting lost in the ocean, with still many miles of uncharted water, it’s easy to get lost in the sea, which is pretty scary, not seeing land for miles (“How to Become a Marine Biologist | eHow”). In conclusion, being a marine biologist is a dangerous job that needs to get tackled by professionals.
Work your way to the water
Like most well paid jobs, a marine biologist needs lots of requirements from attitude, to personality, to education. One requirement is having a bachelor's or a master's degree (“How to Become a Marine Biologist | eHow”). Most people with those two degrees get the most chance of continuing their career as a Marine Biologist. But people with only a high school diploma get no chance of continuing that career (“Marine Biologists”). Another requirement is having the right personality. If you work well with others, have interpersonal relationships, and have lots of patience, you would be a good marine biologist(“Marine Biologists”). Another requirement is education. You must study of course Marine biology, physics, mathematics, statistics, oceanography, technical writing, and submersibles(“Marine Biologists”). Therefore, becoming a marine biologist takes lots of work but in the end, it pays off.
Sail on!
As shown above, I think the best job a person can get is a Marine Biologist. Being a Marine Biologist has lots of requirements and risks, but also benefits that can overcome those negative things. I hope that I have convinced you to look in at becoming a Marine Biologist, and to soon to explore the deep blue sea.
