To be a movie director there are many requirements needed to succeed in this career. You must be able to communicate with others, show leadership, and must be creative. Those are three main requirements to be a successful movie director. There are also some educational requirements to go along with that. You must graduate with a bachelor's degree (which is four years of college).
To go along with the bachelor’s degree you also need a major or minor in journalism, film, acting, or arts management (“How to Become a Film Producer: Career Roadmap”). With these requirements you have a high chance of becoming a movie director.

With being a movie director there are many benefits and risks. A few benefits for being movie director are you get to travel, meet new people, and earn lots of money. As of May 2011 the average movie director makes at least a salary of 92,220 U.S. dollars a year (“Typical Salary of a Film Director”). This salary may increase based off of the content of your films and how popular you may become. Now the risks, there's a lot to name but I'm only going to name a couple. With being a movie director you're taking the risks of not seeing family so often, getting injured, and barely any free time because of the crazy hours.
