Imagine you are in a dark room and have no idea where you are. All you can remember is that you were grabbed and thrown into a dark van where you blacked out. You are scared and alone and have no idea what will happen next. This is what a victim of human trafficking feels like. The End It Movement’s goal is to End these tragic event.
The End It Movement was started by a pastor at Passion City Church, named Louie Giglio, when he realized that there are 27 million people enslaved in our world today and something needed to be done about it. He presented his idea at the Passion Conference in 2013. Here, people became interested in what he had started. Now, the movement has raised $265,000 for awareness, prevention, rescue and restoration of slaves and over 11,000 people have decided to support them by being freedom fighters and donating money.  They also have a partnership with many other organizations like A21 and Not For Sale. The movement has already started saving people by raising awareness and has big goals for the future to save all people from this tragic event.

If you are interested in this topic, and want to learn more, there are a number of ways you can get involved. First, you can visit enditmovement.com where you can build a team of freedom fighters, donate money and learn more about slavery. I encourage you to do this because the first time I looked at the website I learned a lot and became very motivated to support the movement. Next, you can participate in “slavery awareness days” which are dates when people shine a light on slavery by drawing red X’s on their hands, taking a selfie with the X, and posting the pictures on social media. Lastly, spread the word about what the movement is doing.

Most importantly, I encourage you to find something in this world that inspires you. Even if it’s not this topic, find something that motivates you to change the world. When you find that topic, take action because passionate people change the world. Our former president, Woodrow Wilson, once said, “You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world.” Together we can enrich the world by taking part in the End It Movement and giving all people the right to freedom again.

I wrote this originally for a speech for a project and then changed a few things andmade it an essay. I find the topic very inspiring and thought I should enter it into this contest.
