Barrel Racing
That is our new time to beat with a 8.036. Maddie had just ran the fastest time in her class with her new horse Roo.
Maddie and her family got her when she was four years old. She was dead broke and ready for anyone to ride. The lady sold her to Maddie’s family because she needed the money for her other fourteen horses, and so they made the decision to buy her and was able to get her the next day. She was originally planned to be her moms horse but after working with her for awhile Maddie and her just seemed to click so well.
She is only five years old and Maddie trained her on the patterns herself. She is a very fast learner and always try’s to do her best. Maddie says “she is fun to train and ride”.
It was Maddie and Roo’s first year at fair together because her pony got hurt, so she had no other choice but to take her. Maddie had hoped for the best on each and every class. “I’m getting nervous” Maddie said to her mom. “You will be fine you will do great, just get a tight turn around the barrel and give her all the reins on the way back” her mom said. Maddie entered the ring and took off in no time flat. She was flying to the end of the ring so fast we weren’t sure if she would make the turn, but in no time she turned Roo right around the barrel and came flying back with a speedy time of 8.036 and the new time to beat. There was one last rider and that was her good friend Savannah. She entered the ring and took off, she came back with an 8.166. Maddie had just won her class. She was very excited because that was her very first trophy with her new horse and It was a great way to start off the year. It was even better that she got to share the moment with two of her best friends Rylee and Davie. This fair year was awesome and she couldn’t wait till next year with her livestock and horses.
