How would it feel to not be able to remember friends or family? Well this is a symptom that can occur with Alzheimer's Disease. Alzheimer's Disease is a serious problem that mostly affects people who are over sixty-five years old. People who have Alzheimer's disease will experience memory loss and losing the ability to do previously done things. Many people who have Alzheimer's Disease experience depression and helplessness. Coping strategies can help Alzheimer's victims avoid these feelings. Coping strategies such as exercising, participating in activities, listening to music, and having social interactions can give a person with Alzheimer's Disease a more prosperous life.

There is a reason why doctors say that people should exercise at least thirty minutes a day. it is because exercise is good for a person's mental and physical health. Exercising can help fight Alzheimer's disease. Many experiments show that people who have Alzheimer's Disease and exercise more have less memory loss and other problems that occur with Alzheimer's Disease than those people who do not exercise. Also exercise can also lower the risk of even getting Alzheimer's disease. This is because exercise increases blood flow to nerve cells in the brain that helps keep the nerve cells healthy. Dead nerve cells are the reason why Alzheimer's Disease occurs, so if they are healthy, then it can help prevent Alzheimer's Disease.

Participating in activities is also a beneficial coping strategy to people with Alzheimer's. Participating in activities can keep a person occupied from worrying about things or having negative ideas. Also, it will stop the person from being bored. Previously done activities should also be participated in because it can bring joy to the person with Alzheimer's Disease and it might help bring up memories from the past. Activities can give a person something to do and bring joy to a person with Alzheimer's disease.

People with Alzheimer's Disease should also listen to music because music has a way of setting a mood. A happy, upbeat song could set a positive mood, or a slow, beautiful song could set a relaxing mood. Music provides a way of releasing stress and the ability to calm a person with Alzheimer's disease down. Also certain that a person used to love can help bring back memories of the past. Listening to music has a wonderful affect on a person with Alzheimer's disease and should be used as a coping strategy.

Finally, the last really beneficial coping strategy is having social interactions. Talking to friends or other people is a way for a person with Alzheimer's disease to relieve their stress and have a good time. Also, he or she could talk about their problems too his or her friends. Joining a support group can be beneficial because a person with Alzheimer's disease will learn other people's experience with Alzheimer's Disease and learn that other people are also going through these hardships too. Having social interactions provides relief and reduces stress on Alzheimer's victims.

Exercising, participating in activities, listening to music, and having social interactions are four great coping strategies. These coping strategies should be implemented by a caretaker on a person with Alzheimer's Disease to help give the victim a more prosperous life.
