“Punch buggy no punch back!” is a fun game kids like to play in the car. They gently sock eachother in the arm everytime they spot a Volkswagen Beetle, also known as a buggy. Little do they know, there are millions of cars extremely similar to this alienated automobile. All owned by a single company. The Volkswagen Auto-Group is a massive automobile manufacturing company whose total sales tower over 254.02 billion dollars. This business is the captain of its industry, it is truly extraordinary. It has even reached across the Atlantic to America and established a successful business there. There are several very common misconceptions about this corporation that need clarification.
The Volkswagen Auto Group was founded in 1937 in Germany and presently resides in Wolfsburg, Germany. Contrary to popular belief, this company does not solely own just Volkswagen. They run the show for 12 separate brands from seven different European countries. These brands include: Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, SKODA, SEAT, Bentley, Bugatti, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Ducati, Scania, and MAN (The Group). With these various brands they produce a range of automobile related products. They manufacture not only cars , but motorcycles, commercial vehicles, bore diesel engines, turbomachinery, compressors and chemical reactors. (The Group). It is astonishing how little most people know about this automobile manufacturing superpower.
One outstanding feat this corporation has accomplished is the production of one of the fastest, most expensive, world renowned hypercar in existence. This notorious automobile is the Bugatti Veyron, it can be described as, “Too fast for this world.”(Bugatti Veyron) This description is quite accurate because the Veyron super sport pushes 1200 horsepower, a velocity incomprehensible for most people. This spacecraft of a car reaches 60 miles per hour in just 2.4 short seconds! Its top speed is an unfathomable 255 miles per hour! The Bugatti Veyron is definitely a masterpiece among a museum of ordinary works of art. It stands out, ask anyone what their dream car is. Most likely, they will inform you that it is the Bugatti Veyron because it is superior to every other automobile in existence. It is priced around two-million dollars, proving it is not the Average-Joe car you see on your way to work. It is amazing how the manufacturers of this behemoth automobile have accomplished this. It is also sad that the average person thinks of Volkswagen as a small company whose most widely known car is a round bug shaped car that looks like it comes from a cartoon. The public needs to know the status of this company around the globe.
There are a few things people should know about the background of this widely successful company. The genius CEO running this huge business is Martin Winterkorn and altogether he currently has 501,956 employees. It is number sixty-two on the Forbes List of the world’s most valuable brands. It is also number seven in sales and number six in profit. This goes to show how impressive this company is on a global scale. It is in the top ten of two categories closely matched by Apple and Walmart. The only difference is that Americans recognize how huge the Apple and Walmart corporations are. Meanwhile, they are ignorant to the fact that Volkswagen is even more successful than them. Although they are more successful among the European nations, they are still prominent in America.

There are a few models of Volkswagens that are only made in Europe, but there are many other models that have become extremely popular in the U.S. In America, there is the Beetle, Golf, Passat, Jetta, Touareg, CC and several other models. The Beetle is the world renowned “Punch Buggy”, which is a funny looking little two door car that sometimes comes as a convertible. The Golf is my favorite model in the U.S, it is a compact hatchback that has three different versions. The GTI which is the same car but turbocharged, and the Golf R which is an even faster version with all wheel drive and a dual exhaust. These different versions have slightly different appearances, but they still originate from the Golf. The Passat and Jetta are slightly similar but the Passat is slightly larger and more expensive. The Jetta is a compact sedan that is one of the most popular cars in America. It is the perfect car for a new driver because it is safe and economical. The Touareg is a Sport Utility Vehicle similar to the Audi Q5 it is extremely large and powerful. The CC is a large sized sedan that is more expensive with more horsepower than the majority of other Volkswagens. There are various other models like the Cabrio, Eos, and Tiguan as well. Volkswagen has earned its place as a very important car manufacturer in the United States.
Volkswagen is undoubtedly a magnificent corporation that accomplished more than most people would expect. A lot of people are oblivious to how amazing Volkswagen is and undermine its integrity. Volkswagen is truly extraordinary because it owns various makes of cars, manufactures other machinery, created the Bugatti Veyron, is ranked on Forbes List, and has left a deep impression on America with its automobiles.
