She got in a car accident and she’s in a coma. All he wants is for her to say something. Mainly what she wants to feel. He wants her to wake up and be able to feel things like she did before.

You live with all your faults”


She is asleep, dreaming in her coma. She doesn’t know what’s going on in the real world, only what happens in her dreams. She lives with all of the scars and bruises and scratches from her accident. She had faults before as everyone does, but now she has more since the accident. He loves her so he doesn’t see her old faults, only the ones from the accident.

I won’t say anything at all
So why don’t you slide”


He wants to be in a coma with her just so he can hear her voice. He wants her to tell her everything. He wants to know all of her fears during the accident. He wants to hear every secret she ever has hidden from anyone. He won’t judge her or say anything, he’ll only listen because he doesn’t want her to be embarrassed. He also doesn’t know how much time he has left with her so he just wants to hear her voice as much as possible. He wants her to slide her hand into his even though she’s in the coma.


“Don’t you love the life you killed?
The priest is on the phone
Your father hit the wall
Your ma disowned you”


The boy got her pregnant and she had an abortion. (Don’t you love the life you killed?) When she was driving her car she was also crying and that’s how she got into her coma and her car accident. The priest is on the phone because her parents are asking for forgiveness to see if their daughter will still go to Heaven. Her father was mad at her pregnancy because they don’t believe in sex before marriage, so he punched the wall. They also don’t believe in abortion and she disappointed them both. Her mother disowned her. She won’t talk to her or look at her. They won’t say one word to her.

He doesn’t think he’ll ever realize what it really means to be a man because of what happened to his girlfriend. They weren’t married and so her parents are very disappointed. He’s upset with himself, but he knows it already happened and it can’t change so he’s trying to forget about it, or live around it.

He wants to do anything and everything he can for her since he ruined everything she had at home. He wants to make sure her dreams are fulfilled as much as they can be even with all the problems they’ve faced. He even wants to help with the little things that she might not truly want to happen. Maybe she only wants it to happen for a day, even if that’s true, he’ll do it for her. May is the girl’s name. He wants her to put her arms around him and hug him even though she can’t do it. It’s something that he wants. Even though she has scars and marks from the accident he thinks she’s still beautiful and he wants to make sure she knows that. He didn’t want her to have to get rid of the baby. He wants to know if she wants to get married and try to have another baby, or run away and forget the past. With or without him.


Then it’s all the chorus that I’ve already explained…

He means that before she met him she used to get with anybody she could and sleep with them. Then, she met him and she fell in love. She ran to his room and got pregnant and now he feels bad. She’s confused about how it happened since its never happened before. She doesn’t know what to do. He thinks she might go back to her old ways when he wants her to go back to him. He wants her to run into his room and stay with him because he loves and cares for her more than anyone or anything else. He only wants her to be happy, but she can’t be with her parents because they kicked her out. So, he says if you come over, we’ll run away and never come back.
