Smoking really does make you look older, a twin study confirms
Cigarettes are leisurely devouring peoples complexion. Melissa Dahl wrote an article how recent studies at the Twins Day Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio that smoking has a big impact on a person's face. These studies were conducted by comparing twins faces; It clearly showed that the twins who smoked had more wrinkles and an older looking face. These studie's findings were crossed with other trials about the effects of smoking cigarettes.
Cigarettes are made by big companies that do everything to rake in the cash. These big companies are known to put anything addictive into their cigarettes to make people buy their product. These chemicals are added to cigarettes to make them as addicted as they can without thought to how this will affect the consumers health. These companies use poisons like rat poison to add more addictive qualities to their product. These companies hide behind their feeble excuse that by adding these deadly poisons to the product it will keep bugs away from the consumer.
It has been known that smoking cigarettes have terrible affects on a person's lungs and their overall health and it should not come as a surprise that smoking these death sticks affect a person's face. The affects from smoking are droopy upper eye lids with sagging lower lids, receding hair line ,and more wrinkles around the mouth. This combination causes the smoker to appear older than they actually are. This is caused from the skin not being able to absorb enough oxygen, and with the reduced oxygen absorption the blood circulation is decreased as well. Decrease in blood circulation can also contribute to aging facial features by making look weathered and wrinkled.
If a long time smoker wanted to save their face from anymore advanced aging they should stop or smoke less. It is true that the damage done cannot be reversed, but there is still chances of lung recovery. This article was written to around the idea that "If threats of cancer, heart and lung disease, or the dangers of second- and third-hand smoke aren’t enough to get people to stop smoking, or to never start in the first place, then why not try appealing to people’s vanity?" People should know that smoking is a bad choice for their health and a waste of money, and this article shows that people should know the full effects of a product before they start using it.
