An Indescribable Love

Love: a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. Affection: fond attachment, devotion, or love. These two definitions just lightly skim the true definition of love, especially between a mother and a daughter. A mother’s love is incredible and indescribable, a feeling I someday hope to have. A daughters love for her mother is slightly more complicated; with almost a love-hate relationship at times. Daughters, especially during adolescence, tend to forget that a mother’s love is powerful and infinite. Mothers, on the other hand, can sometimes forget how teenagers feel about being seen in public with them! With all differences pushed aside, there is a special and unforgettable bond that only stirs up between a mother and her daughter, a bond that I hope to never forget.

A mother’s love is a love that no one deserves to forget. Mothers are truly remarkable. It is unimaginable of how much mothers have to do. Working, cooking, and cleaning do not even show a fourth of what mothers signed themselves up for. On top of everything going on, mothers somehow always remember to stop and be a mom. There seems to never be a minute to breathe. I often ask myself, “How is it possible to do so much in so little time, with so little effort?” I almost feel ashamed saying my biggest responsibility in life is going to school! I don’t have to worry about tending to a family or putting food on the table for a hungry mass of people. Somehow, mothers always find time for their children, whether it is watching a quick half-hour show on television or going out for a quick ice cream with them. Mothers always know how to make a girl feel special.
I hope someday I could be as amazing of a mother as my mother is to me; I have quite some shoes to fill! I love my mother dearly and am proud to say she is the most influential person in my life.

I was inspired to write this piece after mother's day.
