Have you ever been lied to? Did this lie ever make you feel stupid or dumb? I was 15 years old lived with my mom dad and sister. My brother was in college. We were all a family. Well at least I thought we were.

July 4th weekend the year of 2010 my dad brother and I went to Pittsburgh to watch the Phillies play the pirates. We left on Friday night. My mom was staying back to watch our puppy while we were away. The problem was we couldn’t get a hold of her.

We decided we needed to call my Grandmother to stay at the house and watch Rudy. There was no sign of my mother still. We woke up Saturday morning and went to the second game and we had a blast. We all tried to keep it off our minds. It was so hard.

We went back to our hotel and still my mom wasn’t answering any of us. It had been two days since I heard from her. We were all so worried. My dad said it’s time to call the police and file a missing persons report. My father said we need to head home now, sorry we won’t be able to make the next game.

On our way home I felt that I might never see my mother again. I had thoughts in my head that someone did something bad to her. “Ring Ring” Hello said my father. It was one of the police. He says “sir we found Dawn”. She was at another male’s apartment. She says that they are dating and have been. My dad hangs up. Right away he says your mother and I have been divorced since you were about 7 years old Bay. Also she has a boyfriend and your mom is getting all her things and moving out today.

My whole life I thought we were a family. My parents lied to me. My mom betrayed my father. She didn’t just betray him, she betrayed me also. Finding out all if this at literally one time was heartbreaking. I felt as if my life was over and all I could do was cry.
