"The Man Who Fell in Love with Death" is a fictional piece written by Jacqueline Milgram. This story is about a man who is in the hospital. He is dying. On the verge of dying, a hooded figure, or it, meets him and gives the man a second chance at life. It knows that he still had a lot to live for. The man wakes up, returns to his family and lives on, however something wasn’t right. The man missed the warmth he once felt with it around. He realized he was actually in love with Death and Death wanted what was best for the man, and that was to live on. I liked this piece because it’s a unique topic to write about.

Usually in stories involving death, the main character would want to live and be with the ones he loves.  “‘Then let them fail. Love me enough to keep me with you.’” This story is different. The man wanted to die so he could be with the one he loved. I was drawn to this piece because this topic is not very often written about.
