I vow to notice them
Large faces
Gapingeyes
Mouths hanging in perpetual disbelief
A slow sweeping offins
Prompts the water to flow in short bursts
Bulging at the surface ofthe water
Yet they stay still
Visible in the algae
Looking at me,unblinking
Has no one told them it's rude to stare?
I look at them withopen eyes
A challenge! I will outstare them ...
They do not blink
Icontinue on my way, yet
They stay behind
Watching me like a TV
