Such Simple Words MAG
     We visitedveterans
in their rooms.
Bringing coffee
and a smile.
We talkedabout
anything they liked
and gave them
blueberry muffins
Weasked one
man how he liked
his coffee and
he told us black.
As wesaid good-bye,
he told us to come
Closer and he said this
in a hushedtone:
"Life is a gift.
You only go
around once.
Think aboutthat."
He shared such
simple words, but
with such a
powerfulmeaning.
As I remember that
day of serving
coffee and muffins,
Iremember.
I remember the man
who touched my heart.
And now Ican't
forget his words.
