I glance around to see everyone laughing
I can see everyone smiling
Having the times of their lives
I peer at everyone to see their bright souls
While I lie beneath the unforgiving knives
My soul is deep down in the dark
And I beg for mercy
Tears pour down this weary face
As I shut out the world
I hear them laughing
Are they laughing at me?
How I wish for this feeling to die
Nothingness fills my life and feeds my sorrow
I cannot face the day
For I hate the light
I'm dying
Our am I already dead?
I just can't seem to be the victor of this fight
I'm bleeding
I'm crying
I'm fading into the darkness
I'm screaming for help
But no one can hear me
I'm forever dying
For I am all but dead
And I see everyone around me dying

The author's comments:
I always recount my bullying experiences from sixth grade. Even though it was long ago and I don't get bullied anymore, it's like it left a permanent scar, because even though they aren't, I always feel like people laugh at me. I feel like I can't trust anyone anymore, and being made fun of was precisely the reason I started feeling depressed.

I like the way you worded the poem in such a personal way, especially since it's hard to be honest about the way you feel when people trample all over you. Glad you're being bullied anymore.

Life isn't measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments which take your breath away.

You are only as strong as your weakest link.

They might have moved it here because it was about bullying. Great job! I love it :)
