“The play was fantastic,” she smiled, slipping a creamy white hand into a glove. He smiled at her, a wide open grin. What a wonderful night…
“Would you like some dinner?” he asked, taking her arm.
“It’s impossibly late,” she laughed, going for lightness. She was so tired...
His grip on her arm tightened as they descended the stairs. She tried to pull away, but sharp claws bit through her coat. She looked up at him, and gasped as he changed, saying, “Well, I’m hungry.”
The man—now wolf—swallowed her whole. Only her single glove lay there, completely forgotten.
