Final Laugh

My name was Loid and I was born as a prince in a kingdom called Jomsborg. It was a lovely little island with little to no resources. My father the king was a very selfish man who only cared about who was most powerful to rule of us brothers. Even though I was the youngest of my three siblings my mother would always take care of me the most due to all the bullying. After my brothers beat me up she would always be there to support me and tell me to never give up. Even after my childhood, I would care for her every need but it was time for me to compete for accession to the throne with my brothers. I’ll do anything if it means that I can ascend to the throne. Since I have to work my way up I going to have to kill all my brothers and I’ll start with the youngest of them. The moment it had turned night time I had walked into my brother’s room and stabbed him till I could see his guts flowing all over the floor like a river and quickly jumped out the window and escaped. The very next morning the whole castle was alerted that the second oldest was murdered last night. Even after word had been spread no one seemed to care due to the competition for the throne. Next in line for targeting would be my third brother and it was very convenient that the oldest would be in the same room as the third brother as well. I couldn’t pass up this moment and had a servant poison the wine that was going to be served to them. After they were served the wine and they quickly started to choke I killed the servant so there would be no witnesses. Later that day mother walked into my room and wanted to talk she said:

“Is the throne worth it that you have to kill your brothers and if you continue then I will stop you.”

After she had left I cared for her but here she is telling me to stop while I’m at it, she has to go. I didn’t even wait another day to put my plan into action. I walked straight into her room and choked her out with her pillow.

“It seems everyone is determined to get in my way.” and started laughing, “yelling that's what you get.” and went to bed.

The next year went by and all that was left was my father who refused to give up on the throne even though he is turning sixty this year. While everyone was out of the castle I walked right up to his throne from behind and thrust my sword through his gullet. Thus finally making me the king of this remote kingdom. Even after me becoming king I was later diagnosed with stage three cancer and didn't have long to live. On my road to the king was a bloody fight full of planning and deceit. Even in my final moments, I could see my family members who I laughed at laughing back at me.

The End
