IT ALL GOES BAD
I was sitting around the counter with a group of friends.
It was supposed to be a fun night.
Everyone suspiciously looked around the group.
One person left confused at what’s going on.
They knew it would be bad.
Three shots fired at one person.
They lie passed out.
Someone had too much to drink.

UNKNOWN HEATBREAK
An ambulance rings out as someone is rushed to the ER.
There is no chance for survival.
The nurse’s work, but not much has changed.
The patient’s heart quickly stops.
She’s on bypass to gain time.
Decisions must be made quickly.
The doctor says, “Let her go.”
He is not informed; it’s his wife.

IT’S ABOUT THE HAPPY TIMES
They all smiled and exchanged words.
She is the center of everyone’s talk.
She is so talented, young, beautiful and full of energy.
People ate and gathered around.
They shared stories and laughed of past times.
She always wanted to be the center of attention.
How sad it had to be at her own funeral.

WHAT ARE FRIENDS FOR
They stay around you all day and are true friends.
They say nothing bad to you or behind your back.
If you make a mistake they are there to clean it up.
If your day is a mess, they are by your side.
They take all the trash you throw their way, paper or plastic.
