Educator of the year
Let’s be honest no one really likes working. With all of the jobs high school kids have available now a days such as Walmart, McDonald's, pick n save... not fun jobs. In my line of work and at the age I am, I’m happy to have a boss such as mine. Each day after school I go to work, most days feeling tired and mentally drained from the long school day. I enjoy going to work as It always puts a smile on my face to see all the guys standing around joking not doing any work. I start my work day by joking around with my co- workers for a few minutes and after i’m done hearing about everyone’s day I go ask the boss what the plan is for today., I walk into the bosses office to see what I have to get done today. It never surprises me to see a smile on his face no matter what the day has thrown at him.
A typical shift starting out with some smart a** joke that I either throw back at him or just laugh.
It’s not often you hear someone say they like their boss or even have anything good to say about them. You can’t put the boss that I have in that category. At a whopping height of 5 foot 6 inches this man, (Bob Pawn) has made my job (which is half of my life)fun and interesting. There’s never a dull moment with him because no one never knows what he might do next so I always have to keep my eyes open. The thing I really like about Bob is the way he talks, I can never tell if he’s being serious or not. He jokes so much it baffles me how he came to owning his own business.
It surprises me that even tho he’s the boss he still gets his hands dirty. If someone isn’t doing something right he’ll jump right in and show first hand how to do it. He is a very helpful guy. When I first started working there I didn’t know what I was doing and he would show me how by doing it himself. I still have have questions here and there and he’ll always lend me a hand.
