How to over come a bully
How to Overcome a Bully
“What, no you have to be kidding me!” Nick exclaimed while stomping ferociously to his room.
“It is not my choice honey, none of us want to leave!” Nicks mother Laura said with a quiver in her voice.
Nick ran upstairs and cried into his pillow. Trying to keep quiet so his sister didn't hear him whimpering next door. ‘I can't leave my friends, my house and my school’ he thought to himself’.
The next day Nick’s family was packing up the boxes leaving the small town of Davis, Iowa to the big city of Los Angeles, California. On the way to their new house Nick stared blankly out of the window, waiting for his mom and dad to say it was some sort of bad April Fools joke.
They arrived at their house, with no excitement at all. Nick’s father Eric tried breaking the ice and awkwardly saying “ Kids you start school tomorrow, the school is great, and really close!”
“Ya awesome dad I bet its great, ” Nick said sarcastically while rolling his eyes.
“Nick stop, at least give it a chance!” Nicks sister Lily said sincerely.
The day went on as for the Franklin family, unpacking their boxes, and preparing for their first day at their new school. They ate dinner and went to bed early for a good night sleep. “Beep! Beep! Beep!” Nick and Lily’s alarm clock went off with a annoying beeping sound.
“ Come on get ready! Breakfast will be done in 10!” Mrs. Franklin exclaimed with excitement while pulling the covers off of Nick.
“ Mom do I have to go?” Nick said cautiously
“ Yes Nick I bet you will make lots of friend, so come on get ready, I am making pancakes.”
Mrs. Franklin walked down stairs as Nick pulled himself out of bed and started to get ready. He came downstairs just on time for breakfast, while Lily was patiently waiting at the table for breakfast. After breakfast Lily and Nick grabbed the backpacks and rushed out the door. They walked to their bus stop, as the bus arrived. They both hopped on as a girl invited Lily to sit with her. Nick just kept on walking searching for an empty seat. He walked to the back of the bus when he finally finds an open seat. Nick sits down when he hears a deep raspy unpleasant voice say “ You can't sit there thats my seat.”
Nick stuttered on his words “ Oh I I im sorry I did not know.”
“ Okay, now find another seat.” the boy said sternly
Nick moved to a seat, sitting next to a small skinny kid.
“ What is your name?” Nick said nervously while fiddling with his fingers.
“ My name is Juan and you?” Juan said nervously as well. “ And that kid that just yelled at you his name is Bryce, and he is the meanest kid in school.” Juan whispered
“ Come on it can’t be that bad…” Nick questioned him while tensing up.
The bus arrived at school John and Nick got off together and walked to their first period, Math. It turns out that Bryce was in that class as well. Nick and Juan looked at him when he entered in the room.
“ What are you looking at losers?” Bryce questioned sarcastically while pushing through people getting to him desk.
Math class went on that day, Bryce just kept staring at Nick giving him nasty looks. Nick just sat there feeling like he couldn't move feeling like Bryce’s eyes have stopped blood flow to his whole body.
The bell rang and Nick bursted out of the class and ran to his locker. Out of the corner on his eye Nick saw Bryce pushing some kid around. Nick walked over and saw the kid try to hold back a tear but it went down his cheek. Nick knew he needed to do something. Nick bursted through the fight and told Bryce to back off. Bryce stopped right away and turned toward Nick. Bryce started saying things to Nick that he had never even heard before. Thats when Juan stepped in and dragged Nick away from him. And Juan started saying things Bryce and he was standing up for Nick. Nick thought about what Juan did for the rest of the day. Juan was himself, and even when Bryce said something cruel to him he wouldn’t care, and he stuck his ground and didn't let Bryce get to him.
Nick arrived home with a pleasant voice awaiting him. “ How was your school…”
“ It was great mom, I will be upstairs do not bother me.” Nick interrupted his mother sternly.
“ Nick, whats wrong?” Laura said as she heard Nick’s door slam aggressively upstairs.
Nick thought to himself, I can just act sick for the rest of the year can’t I? H had a quick snack and then he went to bed, preparing for school the next day. The morning went on as usual, Nicks mom made breakfast, and then pushed him and Lily out the door. Lily met up with her new friend at the bus stop, and Nick got on alone and then found Juan sitting down. Juan patted the seat gesturing for Nick to sit. Nick sat.
“ I am going to stand up to Bryce today.”
“ As you should, don’t let him get to you.” Juan said while patting his back “ Just be yourself man!”
“ Okay, I will.”
Bryce soon got on the bus, Nick took a big breath of air, and tried to relax. Bryce shot Nick and Juan a nasty look, as he came closer and closer. Bryce sat right across from Nick and Juan, as words started to come out of bryces mouth.
“ Hey you little…”
“ Stop! Bryce you are not better than everyone, and no one thinks its cool the way you act.” Nick said ferociously while turning red as a tomato.
“ Shut u…”
Juan interrupted Bryce “ Ya Bryce you’re really not as cool as you think you are…”
Everyone in the bus turned to the three boys. Everyone could feel the tension between them.
“ Bryce you can’t just go on bullying, everyone in the school. You have ruined my first couple days here and I won’t let you do it anymore.”
“ You have ruined my whole year so far.” shouted a boy on the bus.
“ Ya!” a girl shouted to agree with the boy
“ Ya!” a group yelled from the front of the bus
“ But, but…” Bryce stumbled over his words, not able to finish them.
All Juan and Nick could do is smile at each other as kids on the bus went back to what they were doing. Bryce turned to them and mumbled something under his breath “ Sorry.” Bryce said with a sassy tone in his voice. Nick and Juan leaned back with satisfaction. The bus came to a stop and Nick and Juan got off without being furious for the first time.
When Nick arrived home, his mother asked how his day was. Nick smiled and said good, sincerely for the first time. He told his mom about everything that had happened, she gave him a loving hug. Nick got enlightened in the inside getting excited for school tomorrow.
