Injustices
Injustices
Injustice occurs in everyday life. Everyone in some point in their life has had a moment when an injustice has occurred and they watched it happen. In middle school an injustice occurred where I stood idly by because I wanted to fit in with the crowd.
Back in middle school there was a shy quiet timid boy named Tony. He was short yet thick boned with a real high pitched voice. One day he blurted out an answer and when he did a squeaky high pitched tone echoed around the room. The whole class burst out in laughter as his face grew as red as a tomato. Ricky, the cool kid in class, said real mean and inappropriate comments while all the kids around him including me laughed, while Tony heard these comments being made and sat hunched back with his face to the desk.
Truth was I didn’t find any of it funny because I saw how upset it had made him, I was trying to fit in so, I made someone else feel terrible. I wanted to be one of the cool kids. Deep down inside of me I knew I should have stood up for him and put a stop to what was being done. Instead I watched it happen and did nothing to stop it.
Injustices are occurred where many stand idly by. If I could go back in time to middle school I would do things differently, Id stand up for Tony and put a stop to the injustice being occurred at the moment.
