“It’s okay if you fall,” They whisper from ten stories below, ”We all make mistakes. We’ll catch you. We care.”
Eyes closed,
Falling backwards,
Breaking everything-I-ever-learned-in-Physics. Time stops-- No, it travels backwards while I’m standing still, but free floating though air. My mind is in a separate continuum from my body. Mind racing; body still and silent.
“It’s safe to fall,” they remind me as I fall into a paper-thin-glass-net that shatters at the touch. Time races to catch up. A halo of blood forms around my the still entity that was my head. Peaceful face, but not in bliss, in ignorance. Rib bones cracked through the skin at blossoming fountains of fresh blood stemmed from a still-beating heart in an already-dead body.
“It’s okay to fall.”
