You're not obligated to win. You're obligated to keep trying to do the best you can every day.
Marian Wright Edelman

Hi there! I haven't heard from you in awhile!
I decided to text you. I wanted to walk to your lunch table,
but I don't fit in with that crowd.
Seems like we lost touch since you started hanging out with "them".
Well anyway, I hope all is well. I miss those jokes we used to share between us.
I hope you see this text. I'll bug you next week.

Hey! Its me again! I wanted to know what you were doing this Saturday.
I thought we could go see the new Transformers movie!
You used to love Transformers. I hope you didn't change too much!
Its okay if you already have plans. I know Mark has a party
over his house that day. I heard everyone's going.
If you're free that day, you know my number. Text ya' later!

I doubt you'll see this text, but I wanted to tell you how GREAT the movie was!
Hope the party was as good. Text me, okay?

HEY, I'm SO sorry what happened. I heard it in Anatomy.
Is it true what Mark said about you on Facebook? Wait;
What am I saying? Of course not. I know you would NEVER do anything like that!
I'm speechless! Just know, whenever you wanna' talk, you have my number.
Remember, I was your friend before you had your braces taken off,
and your skin cleared up, and when it seemed that training bra
just wouldn't fit anymore. Text me now. I care.

I didn't see you at school today, where have you been hiding?
Just kidding! I hope that whole "party" thing has rolled off your back like sweat!
Remember I'm there for you : )

I'm kinda worried. This is the 3rd missed week of school!
Text me immediately!

I'm so choked up right now! I'm barely breathing.
The police came to my door this morning. They told me you comitted suicide.
They saw that I was the last to text you. They asked me to identify your body.
All I saw was a lifeless corpse. Your youthful fresh face, caked by
Mac and Maybelline, while those pretty brown eyes were masked with
mascara.
I leaned closer and saw your phone.
An unfinished SMS text.
It was to me.
"I miss you. I missed the times we used to have.
Remember that double negatives joke we cracked in English?
It was corny. You were the only one that laughed. I always loved
that about you. I should've known I was going to be taken advantage of.
This is the last you'll hear of me.
Read one of those pretty poems you used to write,
if you still do at my funeral. Love Y...."
I guess thats when death kicked in.
In that moment alone, I saw the old you again.
I'm wishing you were still here with me....
You don't know how bad you hurt me. Your mom saw me, we embraced.
I tried to calm her.
She took it the hardest.
It makes me angry that some jerk behind a glass screen and a keyboard did this...
I know you won't be able to read this, but just know this:
You're not alone.

This piece is a very heartfelt fiction. This tackles cyber-bulling, and also other subjects. I hope it touches at least 1 person....
