The Life
My name is Lucy, an average stray dog that would roam the streets of Paradise Bay in Long Oak ,Texas. Wherever I went, there were always these big, moving thingies with humans inside of them. There was one in particular, that always stopped and looked at me. Then one day, all of a sudden, it stopped and picked me up. They took me back to their home and gave me this stuff they called kibble. I don’t know why but I really really liked this kibble stuff, especially when they added their type of food. I kinda sorta started to like this new home, even though it was just a blanket with seemingly infinite supply of food and water.
After a few days, they let me go inside. They put me in water with bubbles (which by the way is scary and doesn't taste good.) After the water and bubbles, I met these three things called children, but I called them mini humans. I know that sounds cool and all but they were TERRIFYING. They poked and prodded me, trying to get my attention with treats. After running as fast as I could to get the delicious delicacy, they squeezed me and refused to let go until I let out a screeching yelp. All I wanted to do was sleep and eat, they just never seemed to keep their paws to themselves.
However, there was one that I liked. It would protect me from the mini humans, the devil cat, the bubbled water and sometimes when the big humans weren’t watching, it would give me its food.At night which was the only time I had peace, I got to sleep with my favorite mini human on the biggest dog bed I had ever seen.
After years and years, I noticed that these mini humans grew bigger than the actual humans. I started to see them less and less every day. I would see them leave in the morning on a big yellow moving thingy, and not come home until I was already half asleep waiting for my not so little human to come to bed. I wondered where they would go everyday, and got really worried when they wouldn’t come home for days at a time. Although they would disappear for short periods of time, they would always came back. I’d consider my life pretty good, considering the worst part about it were the small humans or bubbled water. Or at least I thought it was.
Soon, the not so mini humans would leave, and I would ride out the rest of my days on a bus traveling the states. This wasn't so bad either, who wouldn't want to sleep in a comfy dog bed and meet all the different dogs to play with. The hardest part about this life was saying goodbye to all my different friends along the way.
