Students Not Allowed To Read Fiction Books
On September 11, students at Park View Middle School, were outraged to find out that they to find that there were not allowed to read fiction books in school. “We got an email from the School Board, saying that all students were to turn in their fiction books” said the language arts teacher. Many students were upset with this new “law”. They hated the thought of not being able to read whatever they wanted to. The School Board said that this rule was to be enforced because students were only reading fiction books and not enough non-fiction. “Students should learn about real events in our history rather than futuristic fantasies”, says the School Board. Many students refused or decided they would just read at home. Some might stop reading altogether rather than just read non-fiction books. Many said that they would start a debate team. Fiction is very import to children because it allows them to use their imaginations Either way, we will keep you updated on everything as it happens.
