Vanessa & Miguel's Not So Perfect Love Story
Vanessa and Miguel have been dating or as you can say ‘together’ for about 1 year and 5 months. When Vanessa and Miguel started talking they were both incoming juniors in high school. After a year of being together they decided to live together, so they started to rent an apartment in San Diego. Miguel started hanging out with other teens who smoked at his school. Vanessa tried helping Miguel get out of drugs. She told him she would leave him if he kept smoking or doing drugs. Vanessa and Miguel were both so different. She was into different stuff than him. She was more into her life. Miguel didn’t really care about his life. He was just in love with her and he cared more about her than he cared about himself. She loves music and Miguel just liked playing video games. That’s what made them so special together. Everyday they were learning new stuff about each other. They constantly gave each other love and respected one another. It was a healthy relationship. He would always give her roses and constantly made her feel good about herself. He always told her she was beautiful. Anyways, Miguel got some sense and stopped smoking and doing drugs. They’re relationship was good until summer came along. Vanessa had to go to the Bahamas for the summer. Her family invited her so she decided to go because it’s gorgeous out there. She wouldn’t be able to see Miguel for 2 months.
Miguel was the type of guy to always listen to his girl. Always. But as time passed, he slowly started losing contact.. He would start to reply to Vanesa late in the night and a few text in the morning. Vanessa was worried sick..she thought he’d been talking to his friends. Vanessa had one of her really close friends text her multiple times saying she has been seeing Miguel smoking and drinking with his old friends. She didn’t know what to do because if she told her parents then her parents would be mad at her for dating the type of person who’s into drugs. She was in the bahamas... there was no person for her to talk to at that moment. She felt stressed and scared for Miguel. She didn’t want to leave him because she was too in love with him. She was still the same with Miguel even though she didn’t see him everyday her love for him did not change, but Miguel slowly was losing feelings for Vanessa because the distance wasn’t working out for him. She didn’t care about the distance , she felt that if you love a person you’ll wait for them as long as you have to. It didn’t work like that with Miguel. Spending time with her was everything but since he couldn’t ,instead he hung out with his old friends. That’s when everything started to change.
Vanessa returned to California. When she returned to San diego she couldn’t wait to talk to Miguel. She knew once she got out the airport she would leave straight to her apartment where Miguel should be. Her parents dropped her off at her apartments and she started walking to the door. When she opened the door she found bottles all around the living room. She found empty bottles of Hennessy their room , but while she was walking in she could hear Miguel crying and throwing bottles of beer against the wall. Vanessa quickly drops her luggage and runs to the bathroom .
Vanessa shaking and scared asked , “ What is wrong with you ? Why are you drinking again? “
Miguel replied laughing saying, “ Leave me alone! I’m good!”
She knew he was too drunk so she tried dragging him to the bed. He was lying on the floor in the bathroom with a bunch of bottles around him. When she started dragging him up he hit her in the face with a bottle and punched her near her stomach. She was in so much pain.
“ What is wrong with you! Are you f**king crazy??” , she said while tearing up.
“ Leave me alone ! I don’t need your help. I don’t need anyone’s help! “ yelled Miguel.
“ Just leave already! It’s done ok ! “
“ Honestly , i don’t know what is wrong with you. I’ve tried helping you but all you do is cause me pain. LOOK at my face! LOOK HOW YOU LEFT IT! You can’t love someone ,your not worthy of it! I wish the best!”screamed Vanessa.
“ Aiiighhhht leave then! I don’t need you anyways !” , said Miguel.
All what kept going through Vanessa head was the break up. He had hit her before and she didn’t want it to happen again. So on she went .. She took all her clothes and things that belonged to her. She didn’t want to tell her parents about what happened so she decided to stay at one of her friends house. She stayed there at her friend’s house for about 3 weeks. No text, No calls , No nothing from Miguel. School started and Vanessa had so much anxiety and was so nervous. 8:30 am in the morning, she walked into school. Everybody was in their new clothes and getting their schedules. She walked into the bathroom and surprising it smelled like lavender.
Miguel had just got to school. He went to go get his schedule and was walking around looking for his classes. Vanessa got out the bathroom and right in front of her was Miguel. He was headed to the bathroom as well. Vanessa paused and then proceeded to walk, even as her stomach twisted and turned, as if she didn’t see Miguel. Miguel didn’t say anything to her. So they both went their separate ways. It broke Vanessa’s heart to see Miguel and knowing so much about him and have to act like a stranger. The thought of having to see him most of her week terrified her. It made her so angry and anxious.
Months past by, Miguel was starting to talk to a lot of girls. He was hanging out with his old friends who smoked and drank. Vanessa was still the same girl. She was still the same girl who did her work and the person who was always on top of her things no matter what. He was like a different person. He wasn’t the sweet guy she met when they started dating. Instead he started to be this ‘thug’ Totally different person. She was all he had in her head. There was not one day where she didn’t think about him. She slowly started to heal her broken heart. He was just her past. She didn’t want to bring him up. His name was never brought up in her mouth. She just accepted the fact that she needed to move on. She learned that even someone who you thought you’d be together with can change. People will change and you can’t do anything about it so might as well move on with life.
