Nobody had ever seen a terrorist attack of this magnitude. Some people didn’t know that something this catastrophic could happen. But it did just a week ago. Nobody has been able to get anything done for the past week as it’s been such a  traumatic experience, especially to New Yorkers and the friends or family of the victims. But, for the first time, actual detective work was being done. That is where Adam Gray comes in. As a New York resident and brother of a victim, he was having his issues dealing with the emotions the attack had caused but this may be his most important work to date. He had to try to piece together what had happened to get a conclusive story besides the basic plane hijackings and crashing into the Twin Towers. This was very hard work for someone with only  five years experience as an F.B.I investigator, but they hoped his knowledge of the building would lead to great results. “I was searching and searching, but it was like a wasteland” he said in a future interview. “All evidence looked irrelevant and I was then put to work to help find people responsible for the attacks in New York and Washington.” What he did find were scraps of heated metal all over the buildings’ once lower floors. He didn’t see it as a hazard or neither did the scientists in the laboratory in D.C. Not until fifteen years later.

During that time a lot had changed in his life and in others. He was a successful member of the F.B.I and had climbed the ladder of the government agency.  Adam Gray had been promoted to head of the F.B.I ten years after that tragic September morning. For the next five years as Director he would be very diligent with his work and gain the respect and trust of every one of his co workers.  He had just left a party celebrating five years of work.  But he had tears on his face. He had just left an interview with the media having him recall the memories of 9/11 and the work he had to do in the event. Those tears were because of his believed failed mission and debt he still owed to thousands of New York residents, most importantly his brother. “I know my findings still must be one file” he thought to himself. He went and dug for the metal he found and gave it to scientist for testing. It was for personal reasons definitely, but also for more security reasons. Terrorism has been the biggest threat to the country since that attack and with so many Americans turning their backs onto the country for terrorism something had to be discovered about the attacks even if it wasn’t public knowledge. He got his answer two weeks later. Apparently his metal fragments were pieces of bombs and a dozen were hidden in each building before the planes hit. This concluded into two things. One, that those bombs helped bring to buildings to the ground, and that somebody was able to place bombs in the building with nobody suspecting anything. “We were caught napping on security!!” he exclaimed to the scientists. “And nobody figured this out for fifteen years makes the situation even worse!! Imagine what harm could be developed in fifteen years’ time.” They had just learned about an even bigger attack but were about to be fighting a battle they were losing by almost two decades. “New York City must be investigated as soon as possible. We can’t imagine the horrors the city has in store for them if we don’t succeed!!” the director exclaimed. Eighty five percent of staff was now focused on a potential terrorist attack. Unaware that they should be focusing on another city. But to him no other city mattered in this moment. His brother was killed in New York, the attack happened in New York, and he was from New York. It could not be anywhere except New York City. His brother’s death would never be avenged properly anywhere else.

The F.B.I had been searching for months for any sort of lead to a bigger attack but they kept finding dead ends. Nothing productive was being done and soon people lost trust in the project. Investigators and officers started grumbling about this being a personal thing for the Director. Adam Gray was being haunted by events he remembered about his 9/11 work and started wondering whether he was making up evidence for an investigation trying to compensate for the loss of his brother. He was sure they was still something catastrophic brewing but he just wasn’t sure where. He called an emergency meeting with top F.B.I officials to discuss the future of this project and whether to expand the project nationwide. He convinced enough high officials to expand the project nationwide because of the evidence that they had. They hoped they would be able to find the exact location of an attack then go from there. The F.B.I was using tons of resources but their Director was determined to get this situation handled. His brother would smile down on him when he kills the person responsible for his death. He would be his family's hero by looking out for another family member. He would never have to be haunted by 9/11. He got some feedback a couple weeks later. A Iraqian man was spotted in Los Angeles and he could be linked to the attack. It was a solid yes but Mr.Gray was sure this was the man. He couldn’t wait any longer to put his brother’s murderer behind bars. He was determined to get this man even if he had to follow him across the country to do it.

Six years ,ninety three thousand workers, millions of dollars, countless sleepless nights, and a whole lot of energy used up for absolutely nothing. The whole agency was furious and so was their director. He got so caught in his emotions so much that he went on a nationwide goose chase. Now he was back at square one and thin on resources and time. The whole agency knew something was happening but they didn’t know where or what. He just had to wait for investigators to get information from their suspect. But that has been unsuccessful for the past two weeks. All they knew was he hired from somebody to be a diversion but they didn't know who or where. Adam Gray was beat up so much that he started questioning himself. “What was I even doing this whole time” he thought. “I’ve been wasting all of these people time for my own personal journey and we have gone nowhere for the last six years.I have to end this before it gets worse.” Moments later he finally got what he was looking for. He knew his man and the location. Adam was the happiest he had been the whole project. His brother would finally get the justice he deserved, even if it was two decades late. Who ever this Wallace Green character was his reign of terror was done. Chicago was his location and even though it was not what dreamed of taking down his enemy it would kill his lasting nightmares about 9/11. He had about two weeks to get this done or the city of Chicago would be off the face of the earth and this may be his only chance to find a good ending to the 9/11 catastrophe. So many victim’s families were counting on him to get the job done. Most importantly his brother was counting on him to get it done.

This has been the F.B.I’s most productive two weeks in a very long time. Adam was able to find details on the attack from Mr.Green’s office that has been oddly been vacant for the last two weeks. They had hacked out of all of his friends from the government so that he couldn’t be ahead. The agency now knew his location and they were approaching his hideout as they speak. They had a few options of attack and Adam would have to figure it out. He was at the site because he wanted to see his brother’s killer in the eyes. Now they could barge in and take out everybody leading to a direct approach and a assurance of his best agents being in the mission. Or there was the option of sneaking into the hideout and not create hysteria all over the neighborhood. Adam so badly wanted to avenge the death of his brother. That what the whole project came from in the first place. If it wasn’t for his pain as a victim's family member there would zero action made on this topic. But he just couldn’t risk the loss of his life and potentially his co workers for a two decade grudge. It wasn’t practical and it would go against everything he had learned as a F.B.I agent. The decision was made to use stealth to complete the mission and not forced. Two hours later Wallace Green was in handcuffs and the risk of a bigger terrorist attack was avoided. The problem now was that there are still thousands of bombs laced all over Chicago. You couldn’t just leave all those weapons sitting around because they could accidently go off. That was the next big decision Mr.Gray had to make. But for right now he was just glad to complete his biggest mission as director. He wanted to punch Mr.Green in the face for killing his brother but he held his composure. All he did was look at the man and went about his business. Five years ago he probably would’ve shot Wallace Green but he was better than that. Also his brother would never forgive for killing a defenseless man no matter what he did to countless people. He still had nightmares about 9/11 like anybody would after that horrific experience. But he could finally move past his emotional reactions to that day. He got his “revenge” on that killer even if he didn’t go into the building. His brother would smile down on him from the heavens because he saved the city of Chicago. Most importantly he would find mental composure for the death of his brother. Even if it was two decades after the attack.
