CHAPTER -1 RIMITI
Extra Curriculum Activity [ECA] class was going on .Oloka kept her head low while thinking to herself about how does the school authority expects them to do extra curriculums when they are dieing to catch up with the basic one’s. The teacher kept on shouting as all the students forgot to do their assignments, except the first all square perfect girl of course. Suddenly Oloka sneezed and there were slimy stuff all over her hand and at that exact moment the lights went out. It was load shedding. Oloka asked the teacher for permission to go to the washroom , she was  grateful to the load shedding because of that no one could see the condition she was in .The washroom is situated just opposite to their classroom . When Oloka came outside of her classroom she hesitated a bit as she could see the washroom all dark and creepy and the corridors empty, but she had to get rid of the sneeze so she went inside. While washing her hand in the sink she noticed the toilet door slowly opening , and then came out a girl, who seemed to be younger than Oloka , but something was weird , that girl had her hair all messed up , uniform torn at some places and even in the dark with just the sunlight from the corridor windows  reaching the washroom Oloka could see bruises on the girl .the girl started crying while saying  “They pour ketchup on my uniform , tore my cloths ,threw stones at me , messed my hair ,insulted me , embarrassed me “ then the girl gave a creepy smile and said “I want to die , want to die? To die; die!” Oloka was really frightened, but as a senior she felt responsible and held the girl’s shoulder and started asking “tell me! who bullied you , I will take action , don’t be afraid tell me please , don’t cry please “ The electricity came back at that moment and Oloka couldn’t believe her eyes , the girl was gone .Oloka screamed out loud , all the students and teachers from the nearby classrooms ran to her , the found her sitting on the floor trembling from head to feet , they asked her what happened she answered pointing at the toilet door with her shaky hand “there was a girl, in bad condition looked like as if bullied badly , but…but…but she disappeared  right after the electricity came back . Everyone surrounding her tried to console her by saying “forget about it , it was just an illusion , there is no way something like that can happen” but few of the senior teachers remained silent with a worried and a bit of scared face .
The sentence “I want to die, want to die? To die; die!” repeatedly disturbed Oloka throughout the day. Oloka firmly believed something was wrong that couldn’t be an illusion and even if it was they why would it be cause logically she would    have only seen illusions if she had been thinking about stuff like that lately , but she has not been  so she must know what happened to that girl.  At the end of the school hour she went to her library teacher who was the most senior teacher in the school .Oloka asked “Miss may I ask you some question, I know it’s a bit weird but please promise me to honestly answer them “the teacher agreed Oloka then asked ‘miss was there any suicide case in this school quiet a long time ago, most probably a 5th grader girl?” The teacher let out a sigh and answered “Sadly, yes there was, a very horrible one too “ .“ Please tell me everything about it “Oloka begged. The teacher began “ A long time ago , most probably 25 years ago , this school was quiet new back then , the rules and disciplines weren’t that strict , the teachers were all new and not qualified enough to be called teachers , the authority wasn’t experienced enough . You are right it was the fifth grade with maximum 30 students, and back then the teachers only cared about students with good results in academics and also those who came from wealthy, powerful families. There was this girl called Rimiti who was really beautiful and cute but she was weak in studied and came from a middle class family, she was a really nice girl and made a lot of friends and all the boys specially liked her because she was a really jolly child and a really funny person to hang around with .Now there was this other group of girls who came from rich, high classed, powerful families and they were good in studies. They thought of themselves really high and wanted to be popular, but Rimiti had all the popularity and they couldn’t bear it. You know kids. So they started bullying her they pout tomato sauce on her uniform and shouted in front  of all the boys and everyone look who’s got her period , they abused her verbally and physically too by throwing stones at her , they tore her cloths and pulled and messed up her beautiful black hair . The teachers took very little actions because as I told you they only cared about wealthy and good at studies students. Slowly even all her friends went away afraid of becoming the next victim and some just didn’t care and left her . She couldn’t believe the unfair cruel reality she was facing , just think about it a child of only 11 years old going through all this harassment all alone , even her parents weren’t there for her , they were too busy earning money for their survival and good education for their beloved child , that they did not have the time to check how their child was doing .So Rimiti  a child of  only 11  years old committed suicide by eating dangerous insecticides and medicines that she found in her house . She died in that washroom opposite to your classroom. The worst thing is even after death , justice was not brought upon this poor child , as her parents weren’t wealthy and powerful enough to take legal actions against those children of wealthy and powerful families  or even the teachers because they could hardly forgive themselves for being what they have been . The last sentence this child cursed us with was “I want to die , want to die ? To die; die!”
After hearing this whole story Oloka was deeply hurt by knowing how cruel this world is. She started thinking, why did that girl appear in front of her, can she help her in some way? So she decided to go to the washroom again. She recited a small prayer to bring some peace upon that poor child’s soul. Oloka turned around and she froze with fright, the girl appeared in front of her again and said “You birorrola, help me! Save me! Take me to paradise “ saying this the girl vanished once again . Oloka stood astonished for a while then whispered to herself “Birorrola? Me, take her to paradise? What does all of this mean?”
