Max and Buddy
I was walking down the street trying to find my friend’s house.
“I remember that it is the big blue house and it shouldn’t be that far away.” Max said thinking out loud.
“oh wait I see it.” Max said as he starts running.
He ran and jumped the back fence to get into the backyard. He made it back there and then runs in the backdoor to find his friend.
“Buddy, where are you?” Max exclaims.
Max then hears a response saying “Up here Max.”
He runs up the stairs almost knocking down Buddy’s owner Alyssa. He felt bad so he started to give her kisses and then ran where his friend was. Max and Buddy find each other and they are trying to figure out plans for the day.
Buddy says, “I heard the butcher shop is having a big clean up day, maybe they will throw away some meat or something and we can sneak into the dumpsters and eat it.”
“That would be awesome, lets go!” Max quickly says.
“Hey Max, before we leave can I ask you something?”
Max nods his head yes.
“Do you ever worry about something happening to us while we are outside in the streets with each other?” Buddy asks.
“No, we go out to have a fun time and play. Plus we both have collars on, if anything is going to happen we are just going to be brought back home.”
“I guess you’re right.” Buddy says.
“Ok now lets go.” Max says starting to run with Buddy behind him.
Both of them run out the back door, hop the fence and they follow their familiar route to the butcher shop. They decide to have a race to see who can get their faster. Buddy normally wins so Max was determined to win today. Max has been practicing running so he challenge Buddy to a race, and he accepts the challenge.
“1,2,3 Go” Max yells and they both start running as fast as they can.
“Max have you been practicing?” Buddy asks Max.
“Yes I sure have. Why are you asking, are you afraid you can’t keep up?” Max responded.
“I kinda am. I’m so tired right now. Can we take a break?” Buddy asks due to the fact that they were running while talking.
“Yea sure.” Max says slowing down.
Buddy is panting trying to catch his breath.
“Can we start walking? It’s not too much further away.” Buddy asks.
“Sure.” Max responds.
They slowly start to walk when they smell it, they smell the meat, the savory juicy meat and they get excited.
“You know what I’m not tired anymore lets go.” Buddy says taking off running with Max shortly behind.
They both see the butcher shop and run behind to find the dumpster. They see a man in a van behind there.
“Hmm, that’s a weird parking spot.” They both think. But it doesn’t stop them from going to the dumpster.
They both jump into the dumpster and eat the meat they see. They are so happy and are eating as much as possible. When suddenly both of them are pulled out of the dumpster. They are then faced with the man in the van.
“What’s happening?” Max says in a super scared voice.
“I have no idea but I don’t like it.” Buddy responds back.
They are both put into a kennel and then the van started to move.
“Are we being like doggy-napped or something?” Buddy asks.
“Wait, I have heard about these people called the pound. They take you to their place and then you gets chopped up and made into glue.” Max says gulping.
“I’m too young to die.” Buddy says worriedly.
They both start barking and whining. To them it seems like the car ride is going on forever.
“How long is this car ride supposed to last?” Max asks.
“I have no idea, but I’m kinda glad we are still in the car, once the car stops, that’s when we get chopped up.” Buddy responds.
“That is true okay I guess we are good right now.”
Suddenly the car comes to a quick stop.
“Oh no.” Both dogs say as they start to yelp louder than before.
The guy comes back and starts to open the back. He then opens up the kennel and takes us out. The dogs are still yelping and crying. He puts leashes on both of them and then starts to walk but the dogs try to run in opposite ways, but it doesn’t work, the guy doesn’t budge and keeps walking. He is in front of a house.
“This is who he’s dropping us off to, so that we can be made into glue.” Both of them think.
The doorbell is rang and then the door is answered.
“Are these your dogs ma’am?” The man asks someone.
“This one, Buddy is, and the other one is my neighbors.” Says and all too familiar voice.
Both dogs stop resisting the guy and turn around to see…Alyssa. They both go and knock her down and start licking her face.
“I love you, I love you so much you know that right?” Both dogs say as they start licking her face.
They both turn to each other and say,
“I guess we should start hanging out at each other’s houses and not out on our own.”
They both agree to never go out unattended again.

I think every kid at one time accidentally separates from their parent. I was at a store with my Grandma and I saw something I liked so I walked over to it without telling my Grandma. She couldn’t find me and I couldn’t fine her. I started walking by the area she was at when she finally found me. This story is like an interpretation of that.
