Second Chances
There is only a couple weeks left until graduation. All the seniors and some juniors that are graduating early are super excited. You can feel the excitement in the halls. There is this student name Max. He is currently a junior at Centaurus High School but he has decided that he is going to graduate a whole year early.
Max was doing really good at the beginning of the school year. He turned in all his work and had mostly all A’s and B’s in his classes. He wasn’t the smartest kid in the school but all his hard work and effort had paid off. Max was going to graduate a whole year early. Towards the end of the second semester Max started to hang out with the wrong people. He started to be irresponsible and his grades started to go down hill. His A’s and B’s were now D’s and F’s. Principal Mike pulled him out of class on day because he was worried about Max. The principal had been watching Max’s change of behavior. When Max was in the office talking to the principal, he admitted that he had been hanging out with the wrong people. Instead of doing his homework he would be out partying with the wrong people. Max realized that he had screwed up. Principal Mike and Max workout a plan, and that plan was to take online classes to recover the missing credits.
At this point I think Max had realized that he wasn’t going to graduate early. Max was going to take his online classes the following year. He realized he had screwed up. All his hard work for nothing, it all went to the trash. He then he realized that he would have to give the bad news to his mom. Max was going to have to explain to his mom that he had hung out with the wrong people and ended up making bad decisions. He totally knows he is going to disappoint his mom once he tell her the news. After knowing he is going to disappoint his mom he now thinks and now feels like he disappointed himself as well. Principal Mike felt bad because he knows that Max is a really good boy. He had just made one mistake that caused it to become a tragedy.
The last bell of the school year rang. Max was officially done with his junior year. He was still super disappointed in himself but he looked at the bright side. The bright side was that Principle Mike had given him a second change of graduating. Max wasn’t going to graduate a whole year early but he was going to graduate and that was all that mattered. Max start his senior year great. He was back on track and his grades were back up to A’s and B’s. Principle had noticed that Max had news friends. All of his friends were good student and they all had good grades just like Max. Principal Mike noticed then that Max would definitely graduate if he kept up his work like he had been doing. May was already here and guess what? Max was still on track with almost a 4.0 GPA. He was making his mom and even himself proud. Then the big day came. Graduation was here! Max had done. There he was walking across the stage while he got his diploma. His mom couldn’t be any more happier. Even though Max didn’t graduate a year early as he would of loved to because of his mistake. He was still very happy that Principal Mike had given a second chance. Max learned his lesson. Don’t ever take a chance for granted because you never know what you will do nor what will happen. Max was finally a high school graduate!
