Go mascot Go
I have watched a lot of sports movies and have seen mascots doing flips and dancing to music. An individual who works as a mascots must be athletic, spontaneous, and cannot be shy. This describes someone I know, me! It looks fun and easy so I thought it would be a cool job. I think anyone can become a mascot if you’re not lazy and outgoing. There are many great benefits of being a mascot.
What is a mascot?
A mascot is a person, animal, or object used to represent a group or a team, such as a school, professional sports team, or a object. Many people who become mascots start in highschool or college. Many mascots have a background in gymnastics or being a class clown.
Salary
The salary of being a professional team mascot is about $50,000 a year. I think that is a good salary considering it is not a hard job and you're getting paid to be funny and to have fun. If you travel with the team you would not have to pay for your hotel. It would be good to have an extra job so when the season is over you can still make money.
Benefits
Some benefits for being a team mascot is that you could travel different places with the team and meet the players on the team like George Hill. You could get free tickets to the games so you can give them to your family and friends. It’s an easy job for someone who has no type of education and someone who has no plans of going to college.
Struggles becoming and being a mascot
Some struggles of becoming a mascot is having to try out for the team mascot and there is going to be a lot of competition. If you do become a mascot you would not like to be away from your family too much if you get home sick really fast. I would have to come see my mom and dad every time I’m in town or I would have to call them because I would miss them very much. When you become old they may be no retirement plan and your body starts to give out on you. I think you would need to go to college just in case your plans of becoming a mascot fails. You should go to college so you can have a good backup plan just in case.
Conclusion
I think being a mascot can be easy If you put your mind to it. This career is fun to do and easy money to be made. Being a mascot allows you to travel around the world and meet famous people. The benefits of being a mascots are fun and interesting.
