It was a summer day. 85 degrees outside I was sweating and having a good time. You could hear a distant train in the background. The brease felt like heaven on my skin in the hot humid air.My feet ached from running and walking all day. Then a disruption in an almost perfect day. . . people screaming at each other violently. I was about to learn a lesson about safety in my neighborhood it would change me forever.
Me and my friend Larry were hanging out one day,we are like brothers. He was my best friend and we hang out all the time, every single day.It was a normal day we were hanging out with my neighborehood. We were throwing Larry`s  football around. He got the football from the store it was a really grippy one.
While we were sitting there throwing the ball around I heard some shouting from down the street.”let's go see what's happening” Larry said.” there's a fight going on, I can see it” He shouted. We half ran half walked over to the crowd of assembling people.Fists flying at each other people screaming cuss words, It was pretty bad.The people watching looked amazed at what was happening bloody noses were all around. If you like that kind of stuff: it perfect for you, but I don't like like it.
After about 2 minutes a women came out of her house and started shouting at them I couldn't hear what she said because everyone fighting were yelling; it was like she was a banshee. she was furious and the other people kept fighting and yelling. Then I heard her threaten them by saying she would call the police.Almost instantly a man really tall pulled a black long barreled gun out and aimed. She looked in fear then tried to run but the man pulled the trigger and one bullet hit her shoulder and she fell two more bullets slid inches over her head.
Everyone ran instantly and the man pulled out in a light blue corvette. Me and larry ran to my house and told my mom what had happened. She didn't believe us at first but she saw the truth on our faces. We were not allowed out of the house for the rest of the day. That was the day I learned that my neighborhood was not to be taken lightly when it came to safety.
