Long ago, in a past life, there was a girl named Alice.  At the time, she was thirteen years old and in the eighth grade. One very important fact about Alice is that she is an alien.  But, she goes to an ordinary school and no one knows about her little secret except for her family.  Her family are also aliens that can disguise themselves as humans in public.  So, Alice goes out everyday and disguises her alien features, and does normal activities any other thirteen year old would do.  Alice plays soccer on a team named Blue Devils; it was her favorite thing to do.  If she wasn’t out there on the field with Adidas shorts and cleats, she was with her best friend , or both.  Alice isn’t really close with her family;  the closest person to her best friend Romero.

Alice tells Romero everything… but there is one thing she has been dying to tell him.  She wants to tell him, but she could get in major trouble if she tells.  She wants to tell him about her and her family.  If a human finds out about the aliens living down here on earth, word may get out, and that never turns out well.  Alice and her family barely made it away from the supernatural hunters. Anyways, it all started when Alice’s cousin Fernanda told her boyfriend Gabriel. Gabriel promised Fernanda that he wouldn't tell a single soul.  Fernanda should have known better; he has lied to her before.  Gabriel told his best friend Kris, and Kris “accidentally” told his dad.  Kris had no idea, but his dad was associated with the supernatural hunters.  In fact, he was the leader.  His great great grandfather was the leader, so the duty and responsibility had been passed down to generation to generation, and eventually Kris would become the leader.  So, eventually word got out to hunters and they found Fernanda, her parents, and her three younger siblings. The hunters broke into Fernanda’s house and knocked them all out.  When they woke up they found themselves to be strapped down onto cold metal tables in the middle of a lab.  The lab was full of harmful equipment specialized for each supernatural.  As a lab assistant was getting a gun prepared, the family started talking to kill the dead silence…
“Maria Fernanda Fajardo! You knew better, how could you ?!” said her mother.
“We have told you many times not to trust that boy!” exclaimed her father.
“You disobeyed the rules, and now we are all paying the price,” said her brother.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I don’t know what else you guys want me to say! Yeah I was stupid and i should’ve listened, but there is nothing I can do now. I wish I could take it all back, or that I was the only one the hunters found.  But life doesn’t work like that and now I know.  I’ve learned my lesson and I just hope that everyone else learns from this too and I.. I love you guys,”said Fernanda
“Fernanda’s right” said her sister.
“I love you…,” they all started to say just as there was a gun pointed to each of their heads and the triggers were pulled…  After that happened, the rule was enforced even more.

It was July 16, a couple days before Alice’s birthday when she decided to break the rules and tell Romero.  They were at the soccer complex playing, there was only a few other people there.  Romero passed the ball and she stopped it before passing it back and got a worried look on her face.
“Alice what’s wrong ?,” said Romero.
“What do you mean ?,” nothing's wrong i'm fine”, said Alice trying to fight back her tears
“ I know you aren’t fine, I know you.. What’s going on?,” said ___ as he started to walk closer to her.
“I need to tell you something, but I can get in so much trouble for it.  I hate having to keep it a secret from you, it doesn't feel right,”said Alice nervously.
“Just tell me Alice everything will be fine, I’m here for you,” said Romero.
“ okay, I…,” said Alice just as her mom pulled up in her black ferrari and honked her horn at them.  They got in the car and left the soccer field, dropped Romero off at his house, at 9:40 was the time Alice and her mother arrived home.
“Alice what were you telling Romeo? You looked worried..,” said Alice’s mother Paola.
“I was telling him what we had to do for our project, because he was absent the day before,” said Alice nervously.
“Are you sure? Is everything okay?,” said her mother worriedly.
“Yeah , yeah everything’s fine,” Alice said smiling.
“Okay honey get some sleep,” said Alice’s mother.
“Goodnight mom love you,” said Alice
“Love you too,”  said her mom
Alice starts walking upstairs to her room, once she turns off the lights, gets into bed, and closes her eyes, she hears a tapping on her window.  Her body stiffened, she thought it was a robber. She gets up and grabs the bat in the hallway.  She starts walking towards the window, looked out and it just turned out to be Romero.  Alice puts the bat down and they both start laughing.
“What are you doing here?,”said Alice
“I couldn’t sleep because there’s been one thing on my mind,” said Romero as he turned the other way embarrassed.
“What’s been on your mind bro?,”said Alice.
“You,” said Romero.
“What do you mean?,” said Alice confused.
“You, you are on my mind all the time.  It’s you, it’s always been you.  I just could never tell you this, because I didn’t want to ruin our friendship.  I didn’t want things to be awkward if you didn’t feel the same, and I don’t know where I am going to be ten years from now, but I hope it’s someplace special with you.  Sorry i’m not making sense,” said Romero.
“I promised myself I wouldn’t let another guy complete me, you know what happened with Juan.  But I do, I do feel the same way it’s just hard for me. You know what i mean?,” said Alice.
“Alice, you know that I am nothing like him. He was never worth it; you deserve so much better.  If he wanted you to be in his life, he would’ve put you there; you shouldn’t have to fight for a spot.  But I’m sorry for what he did, I would never treat you like that,”said Romero.
“Romero I love you”, Alice said through her tears.
“I love you too, so what were you going to tell me yesterday?,” said Romero
“I’m… I’m an alien,” said Alice nervously.
“Good one,” said Romero laughing.
“No, I’m serious Romero,” said Alice with a straight face.
“umm…,” said Romero confused.
“Look I’ll show you…,” said Alice
Alice puts her hands into his.
“Do you feel that?,” said Alice.
Romero pulls his hands away fast.
“Woah, I.. I can’t explain how that felt,” said Romero.
“I can’t believe this, this is so weird yet so awesome,” said Romero.
“You can’t tell anyone, not a single soul.  Okay?,” said Alice sternly.
“I promise Alice,” said Romero.
Romero looks at the time,” oh crap I gotta get home before my mom notices I’m gone”
“Goodnight I love you,” Romero says.
“Love you too,” says Alice.
Romero kisses Alice then leaves.

A couple years passed, Alice and Romero are still together.  They’ve had a couple fights here and there about stupid stuff, but they always seemed to work everything out.  It has been about seven years, they are both about twenty years old.  Things aren’t like they used to be back then.  More and more aliens are being found, day by day.  Alice’s parents are thinking about moving, to reduce the chance of being found.  Alice’s parents wanted to do what was right for their seven year old child, Alice’s younger sister Isela.  Her parents also did not want to leave Alice behind, because they knew how in love with Romero she was and knew she wouldn’t leave without a fight.  Alice was ambitious, she got what she wanted when she wanted, because she worked hard for it.  Alice and Romero practically planned their whole lives together already, they were planning on getting married soon.
A couple months went by and things have gotten even worse. It has been harder for them to hide.  Alice’s parents have made their decision, and they are moving.  Whether Alice liked it or not.
“Start packing your things,” said dad to Isela.
“But dad, all of my friends are here,” said Isela.
“I know honey, but it’s time to go,” said dad.
“Why are we even leaving?,” says Isela holding back her tears.
“I’ll explain later honey,” said dad

The hunters were on their trail.  They had no more time left.  If they wanted to survive, they would have to leave today.

Everyone starts packing, except Alice.  But, after a couple hours Romero had convinced her to start packing.  Alice and Romero  have decided not to go with her parents, but to move somewhere else and start their lives together.  Alice’s parents weren’t too happy about her leaving, but as long as she was safe they were okay.  Alice and Romero said their goodbye’s to the family and set off to Brazil.
They bought a mansion, which included a soccer field and pool. Five years went by, they were both twenty-five now.  They got married and went all out for it.  Alice’s parents and the rest of her family flew out from the Dominican Republic to Brazil for the wedding.  Romero’s family flew out from Mexico.  When they moved the women’s and men’s Brazil soccer team recruited Alice and Romero, so the team’s were also there.  The wedding went great.  When it was over the Alice and Romero played soccer, while everyone else went for a swim.  It was the best day of Alice and Romero’s lives, or so they thought.  One year later, Alice got the news that she was pregnant.  They were both so excited.  Until they realized some things could go wrong with their baby.  It would be half alien half human.  There was only one baby and mother to survive the birth in the whole world, according to the ancient alien books that Alice’s mother had.
Nine months passed, it was Alice’s due date.  She could not go to the hospital and give birth, because the doctors would notice that something was off.  So they did it the old fashioned way, right at home.  Alice’s mother came to help Alice deliver her baby.  After six hours of waiting, the baby finally came out.  Everything was perfectly normal.  Besides the fact Alice wasn’t waking up…  Alice’s parents tried waking her up by using jolt of energy from their hands on her temples.  They tried and tried but it didn’t work.  The parents used their telepathy powers to try to communicate with her, but that also didn’t work.  Romero comes in the room to talk to her, and Alice’s mother takes the baby and everyone else to give them some time alone.
“Alice please you need to wake up.  If not for me, do it for our baby.  Please I can’t live without you, you’re my everything.  You make life feel worth living.  I laugh harder with you, I feel more like myself with you.  I trust you with me, the real me.  You’re so special to me.  You’re the only one i wouldn’t mind losing sleep for, the only one i can never get tired of talking to, and the only one who crosses my mind constantly throughout the day.  I can’t explain with just words how much you mean to me, but you’re the only one i’m afraid of losing and the one i want to keep in my life.  I want you every single day.  Even when you’re mad at me, even when I irritate you I want you.  I want your happy days, and i want your I don’t want to be alive days.  I want you in the morning, and i want you in the middle of the night.  Not even the entire english language can explain the rush i get in my veins when i just hear someone say your name.  Please Alice, please wake up.  You’re all i want, you’re all i have!,” says Romero with tears streaming down his face.
He walks outside to get some air.  He starts thinking to himself.
“My thoughts were destroying me.  I tried not to think, but the silence was a killer too,” he thought in his head.
It has been four days, Alice still hasn’t woken up.  Romero got really depressed, and started popping pills.  Alice’s parents were taking care of the baby, still by Alice’s side.  No one knew about Romero popping pills, so it got worse and worse everyday.  It became an addiction.  All he wanted was her.
It has now been six days.  Romero couldn’t take the pain anymore, he was sure she was gone.  Romero smoking and popping pills nonstop to numb the pain.  He lost her, his everything.  The day passed, it was going on to the seventh day.  Romero was done, he was planning on overdosing.  As long as he could be with her, no matter the cost.  It was 12:00, he had the pills in his hands.  He was sitting down next to Alice’s lifeless body.  As he was putting the pills in his mouth, all of the sudden Alice wakes up.  She grabs his hand and the pills in it.  They both look into eachothers’ eyes crying.
Romero hugs Alice tighter than ever.
“Don’t ever leave me again Alice,” said Romero through his tears.
“I won’t, I love you so much Romero,” said Alice.
“I’ll be right back honey,” said Romero.
He went to go get the baby and Alice’s parents.
Alice parents’ run into the room in joy.
Romero put the baby into Alice’s arms.
“What should we name her?,” said Alice to Romero with tears of joy.
“Alycia,” said Romero smiling.
“Alycia Marie Gonzalez-Ramirez,” said Alice joyfully.
Everything went back to normal, Alice’s parents went back home.  They visited every couple of months.  Alice and Romero were happier than ever.  Alycia started playing soccer at the age of 10, following the footsteps of her parents, and  Alice and Romero were living the life they’ve always imagined.
