Tulip Petals
I put the tulip petals under all the pillows, and then I set fire to the house. I sat in a ditch 40 feet away as flames tore up the home little by little. My eyes swelled as my chin sunk deeper into my knees. Soon people cloaked in bathrobes started filling the streets and the wee ooh wee ooh hrnk hrnk of the fire brigade started growing more intense. The charred house soon doused with water until all that remained of my deed was crispy furniture and smoke. The men in suits rummaged through the remnants until they found what they were looking for. Under a blackened lump of cotton it sat. Between 2 pieces of glass it laid. A petal from so beautiful, in their minds, created such disaster. When they found what they were looking for so did I. A smile crept across my face as I pulled a folded chunk of paper from my breast pocket and carefully drew an 8th line across the middle of a page.
