Deep in muggy, hot Australia, lived Koala Bear who was given an immense responsibility. His best friend, Kangaroo, was hopping around the town, so he had to babysit her Joey.
“Okay Joey, lets go on an adventure in the Outback!” Koala exclaimed to the little kangaroo.
The Koala and Joey started their adventure by going deep into the forest. There, they came across a big mangrove tree.
“Look Koala! Im going to be just like you!” The Joey declared as he hopped his way up onto the highest branch before Koala could stop him. He was up as high as a bird flying.
“No! Joey what are you doing? Get back down here right now!” Koala nervously yowled to the Joey as he watched him climb up higher gripping onto the tree with all his might.
“I can’t, it’s too high up, there is no way I can jump down from here. I am not a skilled hopper yet.”
Koala attempted to climb up the tree to save Joey but realized it was too high up for him as well.
As Koala was panicking the only donkey in all of Australia walked up to him nice and slow because he was so old and could not move at a fast pace.
“I could help you get him down if you want,” noted Donkey. The Koala just stared at him like he had two heads.
“Why would I want your help?” Snarled Koala with an I-got-this-all-under-control attitude.
“You are just an old donkey who can't even move. I’m the one who can climb trees so if anyone is getting Joey down, it’s me.”
“Ok, but if you need any help Ill be right over there,” announced Donkey as he walked away to the next tree over, eating some grass.
Fifteen minutes had passed and Koala still had not composed of a plan to get Joey out of the tree. As he was thinking, he saw a rope being thrown up and tied around the branch Joey was on. He turned around look at who had thrown it and surprisingly it was Donkey.
“What are you doing?” gasped Koala.
“I am getting Joey down since you could not.” Donkey remarked. He used all his might to pull down the branch so it was touching the ground. Therefore, Joey could easily slide down it. Donkey yanked and yanked and yanked at the branch until it finally came down. The Joey was now safe on the ground when he ran up to Donkey,
“Thank you for saving me Mr.Donkey, oh thank you so much!” Joey cried as he would not let go of his savior.
“I underestimated you, Donkey, I really did not think you could do it, but you proved me wrong.” Koala proclaimed, “I am very sorry for the way I acted towards you before. Just because you were so old, I thought you wouldn't be much help, but I was very wrong. You were the hero of the day.”
