Do not be ruff on yourself
NoManVille was an abandoned town. The buildings were broken, rusty, and full of dirt all over the walls. As well as the smell. The dogs and the animals never took a bath and everything smelled like moldy cheese mixed with feces. It is an entire town filled with dogs. One of them is named Chief. He is a smart and strong, but no one ever notices him. He is a little smaller than the others dogs and the other animals. He always has been in the lower group. There are two main groups in NoManVille and they are in charge of protecting the town. The A Team protects the town five days a week and fourteen hours a day. On the other hand, the B Team only protects the town for two days and a couple of hours. The B Team does not get recognized but the A team always get rewarded for their good actions. They also have the strongest bulldogs in the town on their team. Chief is on the B team and has been since he was a pup. He had the ability to go onto the other team but his parents did not let him at the time. His big dream is to be with the big dogs on the A Team. He had a few good friends in the other group. Chief goes to canine school with them. Chief always had the friends and always get the female dogs. He was the player of the school and, because of this, everyone calls him names. They lower his confidence, which makes him feel like he is not good enough to be on the A Team.
“Hey,” Princess barked excitedly.
“Woah there mama, wanna hang out at my doghouse tonight?” asked Chief.
“Only if we sniff butts,” suggested Princess.
That night, Princess went to Chief’s doghouse and they hung out. Before Cheif’s dad came in, Princess jumped out of the window.
“I am so proud of you for doing a good job with school and listening to your mother and I. I think that you should tryout for the A Team,” Chief’s dad pointed out.
“Thanks dad! Do you really think I’m going to make the team?” mumbled Chief.
“Yes, only if you believe in yourself and you have the confidence to do it,” slobbered Dad.
As the days gone by, Chief practiced and practiced. He started to believe in himself as the days gone by. Chiefs dad was serious about this, Chief could not hang out with his friends because his dad believes that he’s going to get distracted and not focus to the number one thing. The day finally came and Chief had no confidence. When he got there he meet a few new dogs that he had never seen before. He did not know how they worked. Chief only knew a few dogs and how they worked. As the tryouts went on, Chief had more and more confidence. The team asked him if he could do drills with them. Chief knew exactly what to do.
Drill day came and he worked harder than he has worked before. That day, he made the team. Chief now knows not to underestimate himself and to believe in himself when situations like this come again.
