Going Bear in the Winter

A chill could be felt through the air, signaling that winter was coming. All the animals were getting ready for hibernation or migration. The birds were taking endurance training for the long flight down south while the others were getting ready for hibernation. Most of them. Bear, instead of preparing, decided to slack off and watch the birds practice instead.

"Bear, quit slacking off and start preparing for hibernation! Look for a cave and food to last you through winter. It's best to be prepared early than find everything at the last minute."scolded the Old Owl before he heavily flapped his wings away.
Owl's advice for Bear had gone through one ear out the other. He continued to watch the birds flying in V-formation, flapping their wings in sync like a dance.
A few days later, before winter, Bear still hadn't prepared for hibernation yet. His best friend, Wolf, was concerned.
"Bear, you should really start getting ready for hibernation. It's almost winter and it's going to be one of the harshest winters of the century. Even my pack is worried."said Wolf.
"Nah, I'll get ready for hibernation later. I just need to find a dry place to sleep and a little food. No problem!"said Bear, not paying attention to Wolf's worries. Instead, he was taking a little nap. Wolf soon left, his pack howling in the distance, signaling for him to get home.
A few days later, winter had begun, but early. As they had predicted, it was one of harshest winters ever. Bear, instead of preparing for his first hibernation alone, had been playing
with the younger animals. Now, Bear was shivering from the intense cold, trying to find some animal that would let him hibernate in their cave. But thanks to his louche reputation of being lazy, none of the animals would let him in.
Huddling under a tree, Bear's bristly brown fur stood tall as the hail and snow pummeled and pounded him, for the tree provided no protection because the trees' in the forest were as bare as a sheared sheep. The snow had blanketed the forest in a blinding white. It was as silent as a mouse, with only the faint sounds of snoring being heard. Bear shivered, struggling to keep awake, but his eyelids felt like a 10 ton weight. His eyes opened and closed every now and then, struggling, but failing. For one last time Bear's eyelids closed and he fell into an eternal sleep.

I was inspired by personal experiences. I hope people will get that procrastination is a bad habit you need to break.
