Hooo Studied
In a small community of huge trees with thick trunks and bundles of green leaves there lived a parliament of owl families.5,4,3,2,1 the countdown begins as each little owl is hatched. They are finally seven weeks old. Seven weeks is the week of flight or ¨cruise¨ as the teens call it. It was an exciting time for the owls and their parents. For young owls it meant freedom to come and go as you please, and for parents it meant freeeeedommmm. Louie and Hootie two best friends were the most excited for the start of the season.Owls don’t just wake up and know how to fly though the first weeks they learn how to add acorns and calculate the distance between themselves and the owl next to them in seven steps...Wohooo!
“I mean who has the time to calculate the distance between themselves and the next owl,all you have to do is say look I’m kinda close to you so I'll move back,”
Louie complain.
"We will never use this," Hootie said
Louie hated having to be dragged around everywhere by her mom. To the Tree Trunk, were most owls get their food, and worst of all to old grandma owls nest.
“She smells like old mice,” Louie whined
After waiting for this moment to come for so long Louie and Hootie on their own stepped out of the tree.THe first day wasn’t exciting but the branched which happens to be one thing that Louie practiced.
“How’d you do?” Louie questioned.
“Not so good, I didn’t even know branching was a thing,” Hootie grumbled while flipping her feathers.
Louie walked off, not thinking much of it. Mrs. Flamingo hinted that next they were working on gathering without flying, which happen to be one of Louie's talents. Therefor, the next two days she decided she didn’t have to practice. When the day of the gathering came, she received five whole berries.
“Wow,” she thought to herself, “I didn’t even study.”
Throughout the next week, Louie continued to go about her business and not practice any of the skills that she was supposed to present the in the following days.when she got to class her teacher stood up in the front on the room and asked who studied.louie would lie and raise her hand. But none of that mattered because when Louis went up, each time...Boom! Five berries.
“Hootie,” Louie called out after her best friend.
“Yeah?” Hootie yelled back.
Louie caught up with Hootie.
“OMO(oh my owl),I didn’t even study,and look five berries!" Louie bragged .
“Are you ready for the first flight?” Hootie questioned.
“Totally,” Louie laughed.
But she wasn’t.The next day when all the birds lifted off she didn’t.
“I can’t get off the ground!” she yelled.
This was definitely the most embarrassing moment in her life. After getting back to the nest Louie realized that it was her fault that she didn’t pass the flight test, she regretted her decision, and came to the conclusion that she has to bring up her flight game.
