King Lion and The Dream
KING LION AND THE DREAM
In the jungle of 962 B.C., the King Lion sleeps tonight with many worries. The sun rises and tomorrow has arrived, but it was just another worrisome day for King Lion. The king’s advisor, who is Admin Tiger, comes rushing in just like any other ordinary day and tells King Lion that his fellow animals are starving.
“Your majesty, your majesty! The kingdom is in deep starvation. They’re demanding food on their tables for their children!” Admin Tiger exclaimed.
King Lion softly replies, “I know that Admin, but what can I do? I’m a useless king; I can’t even help my people.”
“No, Majesty. Do not say such a thing! You are a great king, but things are just so stressful right now.” Admin Tiger said. “Just look at the jungle, and think beyond your limits.”
King Lion stares with an unconvinced face, “Maybe I just need some time away.”
“Whatever works, your Majesty. But this must be kept as a secret, the town’s animals will go ballistic if they heard their King was leaving for a bit in the middle of a crisis.” Admin Tiger softly replies.
“You’re right, Admin.” King Lion said.
King Lion then sets off into the world with a worry on his shoulder, and is determined to come back with a solution. He thinks while travelling and now it has been three days since he has left his kingdom, yet still have came up with no solution. And after the third day, he was about to just give up. But then as he shames himself while strolling, he accidently tramples and falls down a hill. When he had finally hit bottom, he looked up and his eyes had suddenly shined wide open with hope. He had seen something he had never seen before; undoubtedly, it was an industrialized city with such a miraculous agriculture where one will never starve again. Thus, King Lion had finally found the answer to his worry and it was a mechanized agriculture. Finding the solution to his problem, he then rushes back home to his kingdom to tell of this great news.
King Lion returns home successfully and secretly without any of his town’s animals seeing him. Once he got inside his lair; he goes straight to Admin Tiger.
Admin Tiger stares at King Lion in surprise as he walks toward him, “Oh, your Majesty! Welcome back home.”
“Thank you, Admin. But for right now, I need you to gather the town’s animals.” King Lion replies in a rush.
“What for?” Admin Tiger questions.
“For a meeting because I have of such great news to share to my fellow kingdom.” King Lion said.
“Oh! As you wish, Majesty!” Admin Tiger replies and then quickly runs off to tell the animals. “Animals of this kingdom! The King has summoned everyone for a meeting, for he has of good news to share. So please if we all can quickly get there, we can get the meeting going and hear of this good news!”
The town’s animals at first questioned in confusion of such an unplanned summoning, but then realized it must be important. So, the animals quickly get together and head for King Lion’s lair. As soon as they enter, they see King Lion standing in front of all them on his big rock. The town’s animals get into formation quickly and bow their heads getting ready to hear of this good news. King Lion takes a look around and begins to speak.
“My fellow animals, I have brought back of great news that will conclude of the starvation problem! From today on, we will begin on a journey of industrialization! To create a city of mechanized agriculture where no one will never starve again!” King Lion bravely exclaims in front of all the animals.
But the animals look at each other in confusion, they began chattering and questioning each other. What is this thing called, industrialization? How will we do it? We are all so weak. King Lion does not loses confidence in what he hears and had begun to speak again. The town’s animal silence to hear his words.
“The journey to industrialization will be hard, but in the end it will be worth it. No one will be alone, we will all work together as one kingdom like we are now! If we make it to industrialization, our lives will become easier and you will no longer starve! So, come forward and let us begin our journey!” King Lion exclaims.
As the town’s animals seeing their King speak with such persuasion and in such a courageous way, the animals began feeling hope in their hearts of this industrialization plan and starts cheering on for their king. Thus, the road to industrialization has begun!
It has only been a year since the meeting of the kingdom and many has already died due to sickness and the cold winter. The town’s animals are feeling like to just give up, but King Lion is able to push them forward with his saying, “We cannot let our loved ones who had died be in vain! For if they were still alive, what would they tell you? To never give up!” Because of this saying, it allowed the animals to have continued on for another year and half.
It was now the year of 959 B.C. and the road to industrialization had finally been completed. But by the end of the industrialization, only half of the kingdom was still alive. King Lion steps outside his lair and the dream was here. He then gathers the town’s animals and begun to speak:
“My fellow animals. We all have completed the dream of industrialization and it has now become reality. Even though we have lost many of our loved ones on the way here, we will never forget of how much they meant to us and to this kingdom. But we will never become hungry again, our lives will now become easier from now on forth! That is all. Rest up my fellow animals.” King Lion speaking while feeling proud of his animals and his kingdom.
The town’s animals hearing of such that they begun to cry of relief.
Years pass by again and the population ends up exploding throughout the years due to the kingdom becoming even more modern. Everything still is the same, but now the animals of the kingdom have just gone ignorant of their king. Thanks to the new modernized world they live in; therefore, they’ve become reliable on industry and not for their king to lead the way. Only some had decided to stay loyal to King Lion because he was the one who brought them this miracle. Others decided to break the rules of King Lion and now goes against whatever he says. The dream of an industrialized city wasn’t going as King Lion had planned it to have been. He never knew the effect of a modernized world would affect the animals so much.
One day the animals got together and had discussed of how much they didn’t like the King and one of them came up with an idea to overthrow the king. Why would they do such a thing? They had decided that they have no use of such a king no more when there’s now modernism and the industry. So they decided on a date to overthrow the king, it was a week from now. But what the enemies did not realize was that there was a spy from the king there, he had told the king of their plan to overthrow him in a week.
King Lion replied, “I am terrified to hear that by my own people, but what can I do? The dream of modernism has changed their behavior. I cannot do anything but wait until that day comes to get exiled.”
It has finally been a week and just as expected, there was the mob against the king. The king went up to his people and resigned himself. Before being banished from his kingdom that he had created from the ground up, he had left a speech:
“I as King, am disappointed in what has happened to my kingdom. But for I, will take blame in everything. For I, was the one who created the kingdom and created this industrialized dream. But just you wait, I will take it with me. You will see.”
The town’s animals didn’t care of what he said and just quickly banished him. King Lion had to leave the city for good, but for what he had said he will take this industrialization dream on with him. King Lion was now gone forever.
Days passed by and all the animals partied all night long. They celebrated about that the king was now gone and was they were free with this modernized city. They felt as if they could party forever, but it was only until a huge storm had poured into the city. The storm had destroyed everything starting from the buildings, to the crops, and to their resources. When the storm was over, the animals came to see what had happened and as King Lion had said, he really took the dream with him. Now the animals were just left there, clueless and didn’t know what to do. They had exiled their king and their city was all gone with him. It was over. The animals just all stood there in silence thinking about what they just had done.
