A Taxi and an Old Friend

It was 3 days before Christmas; Sandra had planned a last minute trip to Hawaii for the holiday. On Christmas Eve, she was packing but she had to do it in urgency because she was running late and she didn’t want to miss her flight.  Her suitcase was overweight but she forced the rest of her clothes to fit. Only thing left for her to pack was her camera so she could capture all the memories of being in Hawaii. After she finished packing, she ran to the bathroom to take a shower and get ready, she didn’t give the water time to get hot so when the cold water touched her skin she shivered and step out the shower. Couple minutes passed and she went back in the shower, she washed up, got dressed, applied her makeup and called for a cab. After getting off the phone with the cab service, Sandra waited and waited until she began to get frustrated due to the fact this cab took almost half hour to get to her house. When the cab finally arrived at the house, Sandra put her luggage behind the car, when to take her seat and sent the cab driver to put her bags in the car. As the driver enters the car, she confronted him about arriving at her house late.
When the driver turned around to apologize, both he and Sandra were shocked due to the fact that they knew each other. Sandra said “Justin is that you?” OMG!!! Yes! Justin answered with a big smile. They both went to high school together, while in high school they dated until they graduated everything changed, both Sandra and the driver went they separate ways back then. They haven’t heard from each other since then. But anyways, while driving to the airport, they talked about all the times they had spent in high school. When arriving at the airport, they exchanged number; Sandra told Justin she’ll give him a call when she’s back in town. They hugged for a good two minutes before went off. Sandra remembered she was running late so she rushed to get checked in, Justin behind her with the bags, when everything is settled, they said their goodbyes. While on the plane all she was thinking about was Justin, she called him immediately saying, “I’ll call you as soon as I reach Hawaii!” after the long hours of that plane ride ,the first thing Sandra did was get checked in at the hotel and get some rest. While sleeping, she had a dream that her and Justin was a couple again, she woke up smiling.  She then called Justin, it seem as if Justin was sitting with the phone in his hand waiting for the call because after the phone rang once ,Justin quickly answered the phone and said “ I didn't think you’d call at all” Sandra respond, believe it or not , you've been on my mind since I left you at the airport. They've been on the phone for hours, she forgot the real reason she came to Hawaii, but I guess talking to Justin all day long was better than enjoying the nice luxury in Hawaii. For the whole two weeks Sandra had been on her trip, she didn’t go a day without talking to Justin.
Sandra’s vacation was coming to an end and she was the happiest person ever because she was so excited about going back home knowing that she’ll have plenty more time to catch up with Justin. She changed the time she was supposed to leave the island to an earlier flight just to be able to see him. On the day she was leaving she called Justin, just to remind him she was going to be leaving Hawaii. It has been five hours since Sandra had been on the plane. When she almost arrived, she made sure she texted Justin reminding him about the time he supposes to be there. On his way to the airport, something caught his eyes, a gorgeous, folded origami rose. It is made out of colored paper, and looks as lifelike as the real thing but even more perfect. It wasn't long that he had to wait for Sandra, when he saw her; he came out the car to help her with the bags and gave her a hug. I run back to my cab, nearly tripping over my too-long pants to get the roses he had bought. He handed her the roses, she jumped in his arms and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She told him thank you and that he’s the first guy to ever give her roses in a year. There and then Justin felt more special because he made her happy all over again. They headed to the car, packed the bags in the trunk, and Sandra took her seat in the front of the car next to Justin. As they pull off from the airport he asked how her trip was but then he stopped and said “never mind I bet it was great because we spoke throughout your whole vacation, with a smile”. Sandra laughed out loud, “Actually it was because I spoke to you, nothing seems to bother me at all”. Justin told Sandra he has a surprise for her but she wouldn't know until they reach the destination, which took about 20 minutes to get there. When they arrived at the restaurant, Sandra turned to Justin with a surprised look on her face and said “is this for me? You shouldn't have, thank you so much sweet heat I really appreciate it.” He held the open while she walks in then he followed behind. There was a reservation already set for the two, so the waitress directed them to the table they would be eating at. They took a couple to look at the menu, and then ordered what they wanted. Later that day, both went to go watch the sunset afterward Justin took Sandra home. They said their goodbyes, hugged and unexpectedly they kissed, both smiling from ear to ear couldn't stop blushing. Sandra went inside, she didn't bother to unpack her bags, she just went straight to the bathroom filled the bath with war water and began to take her clothes off. As she step one foot in the tub she heard the door bell so she wrapped her towel around her and went to see who was at the door, she took a look through the peep hole just to see it was Justin there with one of her bag. With her body behind the door and her head out, she took the bag from him and set it aside, Sandra offered Justin to come inside and take a seat on the couch. He saw that she was getting ready to take a shower so she told her go finish getting ready and he’ll wait. She rushed upstairs took her shower, put her hair into a ponytail, washed her face, brushed her teeth, and put her night gown on. She went back downstairs, “Justin, would you like some hot chocolate?” he said “Yes please, thank you”. Before she went into the kitchen she handed him the report and told him he can find a movie to occupy his time. Once he found a good movie, Justin went in the kitchen to help her with the hot mugs so she wouldn't burn herself. They sat on the couch and he played the movie, both Justin and Sandra drunk all their hot chocolate, couple minutes into the movie she leaned into Justin’s arms ,rest her head on his shoulders and began to doze off. He stayed and watched the movie till the end, when the movie finally came to an end he turned the T.V off and carried Sandra up to her room to lay her in the bed. Before he could say he is leaving, she woke up and told him where the extra blankets were and that she could sleep in the guest room and gave him a toothbrush. He took the toothbrush and went to get the blankets from out the closet, rushed his teeth and went to bed. The following morning , Sandra woke up to breakfast in bed, she turned to Justin as said “ever since high school you’ve been so good at spoiling me, you treated me like a queen” Justin interrupted her and reminded her that she is a queen that’s why she is being treated like one. She continued, “Everyday you’d have a new trick up your sleeve and each of those tricks made me happier and happier. Sandra felt old feelings coming back for Justin and there was no way she could stopped that.  She looked at Justin and said “If you are happy, you will remember the person whom you love. If you are sad, you will remember the person who loves you.” Justin honestly I think I’m falling in love with you all over again, said Sandra. He said, “I have been meaning to express my feelings to you but I just didn't know how to, believe it or not the feeling is mutual and I would love to start over.”
