Shotgun
Charlie never knew what hit him... The house was quiet that night. It was as silent as a mouse, except for the tapping at the door. It was faint, but Charlie was scared out of his skin. Tap tap tap. "Maybe I'm just delusional." He thought to himself. "It could just be the dog chain out back." Then he saw a flash. It was as bright as sun on the hottest day of summer. "Uh, hello?" Charlie sat up from the slouching position he was in, "I-is anybody there?" He thought of his mother who was at a business meeting. Then he thought of his father who was out with some friends. He thought of his girlfriend, Sarah, who was at band camp for the weekend. Tap tap tap. Charlie silently tip-toed over to the door. Then opened it slowly. "Hello?" Charlie gasped when he saw his father standing at the door with a gun pointed at his forehead. "Father, no!" Charlie tried to close the door, but it was too late. With the pull of a trigger and the click of the gun, a bullet plunged into Charlie's skull.

This piece was co-written with my best friend/flute buddy Abby. We were writing a piece in class and our teacher assigned us to finish the sentence 'Charlie never knew what hit him...'. We had to choose parteners, and I went straight to Abby. I think this story was a little dark and scary! I hope you liked it!
