The Silent Story
She just layed there, in a puddle of tears as cold as a big blue ocean of depression.
“How could this… how could he…” Then she paused, realizing it isn’t his fault.
“I’m sorry ma’am, I know this is very hard to take in.” Said the voice on the phone.
“Constance, is it?” Asked the voice. “Yea..yes.. it is.”
“Well Constance, maybe I could help you..” Constance then asked in a very confused tone, “What could you do to help me? No one could ever feel my pain while going through this situation!” There was a long moment of silence. “Actually i know exactly how you feel..’
“How so?’ asked Constance. “Go to Black’s Cafe tomorrow at seven-oclock. We can then talk over a dinner… Deal?” Constance took a moment to decide. “But I know nothing about you.. I dont even know your name.” “Eliot.”
She checked her phone. She was ten minutes early. As she began sitting down at a table outside of the cafe, she noticed a guy walking towards her. She couldn’t help but stare. He was so.. so… perfect. “Constance?” He asked nervously. “yes.. I mean, yea.” She responded awkwardly. He smiled and sat down in front of her. “Hello, I’m Eliot.” “Hi.”
They talked for ever, having a lot in common since they both were the age of nine-teen.
Months went by and they never mentioned the reason they met in the first place.
For you see… Constance’s father was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer. Thats the whole reason of the devastating phone call. Constance has never met her father but letters and letters went back and forth to each other day in and day out. She grew a strong bond with her dad.
After Eliot and Constance admitted their love for each other, they began growing a relationship like no other.
Constance decided to bring up the past...it’s been four months since the day she found out about her father and she hadn’t written a letter to him since. She met up with Eliot to ask him about his “story”, what had happened in his family? And to who? She found him standing in the parking lot of the movie theater. They grabbed their tickets and took their seats inside. The credits of the last movie were still playing so she decided to ask him then.
“So, What’s your story?” he smiled as if he knew exactly what she was talking about. “My story.” He said and began laughing. Before she could reply Constance noticed the movie was starting, so she watched the screen waiting for it to be over.
An hour and a half went by and finally the movie was over. As they were walking out to the parking lot, Constance turned to him and asked again, “What’s your story?”
He just looked at her and smiled.
He collapsed to the ground with a thud. His face turned a solid white. Constance started screaming for help but the world seemed to stop, as if everything was in a sint slow motion.
She held his head in her hands and cried a slow sob.
he began to open his mouth as if he were about to speak. “My story... “ he began……
“Was me.”
