i remember

I remember
I remember when swimming mattered,
It was from the ages of 5 to 12. My whole world revolved around the sport of swimming.
What comes back to me is the wonderful feeling after dropping a whopping 2 seconds of a 15 second race.
I remember the many different shades of skin from the different styles of bathing suits I had worn.
I remember being the last one to leave the pool at closing.
Just wanting at least 5 more minutes to soak in the chlorine,
Just five more minutes.
