Video Game Violence

Do Violent video games contribute to youth violence? Around 97% of 12-17 year old in the united states played video games in 2008. Violent juvenile crime in the u.s has been declining as violent video games popularity has increased. Arrest rate has fall 71.9% between 1995-2008. 2004 secret service found out the 1/8th of attacker show less interest in violent video games than violent movies. The Report showed no relationship between videogames and shootings.
Playing video games reduces violence in young boys to substitute for playing rough with other. Violent video games her express your anger and calm down people and they dont have to hurt anyone to be calm. The level of control helps the player keep a normal emotional state . Research shows that the thought of being in control reduces stress. The same arguments have been given for movies and television.
Video games might affect the way the crime is committed but does not cause the crime to happen. Young kids might model things they seen in violent video games. This evidence supports the claim because kids will always think about consequence before they do it so in order for the kid to do a violent crime there has to be something other than video games to blame. Video games let kids/teens experience real life problems like war/death and chaos. This teaches kids about real world problems war is a very important real world problem.
There is no proof of any relationship between behavior and video games. They dont have any accurate way of testing a link there are lots of flaws they use noise blast to measure aggression. The way they test has to be very accurate because if not then the answer or result would be useless to claim anything off . There is no relationship between school shootings and video games as reported . The opposing side’s claims cannot be proven right or wrong but they have no evidence to support their claims.
The opposing side claims that video games does affect youths minds causing them to act more violent. In 2000 the FBI report had listed that video games was associated with school shootings. Violent video games cause players to associate pleasure with abilities to cause pain to others. in 2005 2.279 murders committed by teenagers showed no correlation to video games in any way. reports showed that attackers had less interest in video games than violent movies.
My position is that video games do not affect youth in any way shape or form but only helps them. Violent video games have been proven to substitute violent play for younger boys rather than make them want to do it more. school shootings have not been linked in anyway to video games but they have been brought as a problem even though they cannot prove that they are to blame . The test they have used to try to prove video games affect youth have been total failures because they don't use the right resources to conduct the proper test and get an accurate result. school shooters have shown less interest in video games than other violent media.
