Lesson: Don’t Let Anyone Bring You Down



In school is a popular cool cheerleader and her name is Elizabeth. Everyone sees her as the most happy, playful girl in the school, but in the inside she really has no parents and she lives with her aunt. She lives in the Bronx and her parents left her when she was 2 years old. It was the first week of school and she had already have a crush on someone. Her crush was a member of the football team. For her to be able to see or talk to him, she needs to join the cheerleading team. She was lucky that there was only one spot left. She made into the cheerleading team.



A few weeks later she starts talking to him. “Hi, my name is Elizabeth… What’s your name?” she said nervously.
“My name is Josh” he said excited. Right after they got to know each other, he asked her on a date, to get to know her more.
Josh asked,“Where would you wanna go?”


“Let’s go to the movies.” Elizabeth said. When she went to class, all she could think of is him and her date with him. School has ended and Elizabeth went straight home and got ready for her date. As she was getting ready, Josh called her to come down stairs. She put on her jacket and went down stairs.


Elizabeth and Josh went to the movies. Elizabeth felt so nervous that she didn’t had nothing to say until Josh spoke to her.


“Which movie do you want to see?” josh said.
“Ummm…I don’t know there are lots of movie that are great” Josh said.
“How about Ride Along?” Elizabeth said.
“Sure, it seems like a funny movie,” Josh said happily.
She was thinking for a while about how boys are him like. They ended up cuddling and kissing during the middle of the movie. Then Josh ex came passing him and josh pushed elizabeth away softly to not make her think he did that because of his ex. Josh ex girlfriend’s name is Lilly. Obviously he still had feelings for her and Lilly did too.



When the movie ended, Elizabeth went to use the bathroom. Josh went up to Lilly.


“Hey, how you been?”


“I’m good but who’s that girl you with?” said Lilly.


“Oh she’s just a friend of mine. She cheerleads for my team.” Josh said nervously.


“Okay so I’ll talk to you later, just add me on facebook and we’ll talk” said Lilly.
Elizabeth came out of the bathroom and her face looked mad.


“WHO WAS THAT?!” Elizabeth asked with disappointment.


“That was just a close friend of mine, I was asking her how she was and asked her who she came with, plus she has a boyfriend so theres no need to get mad”
She ignored him and walked away. Josh tried to explain to her but it didn’t work, she got even more mad then she was before. Josh took her home and walked her to her door.


“Why are you mad about?” said Josh.


“Because you lied to me!” Elizabeth said while crying.


“How did I lie to you? What did I lie about anyways?” Josh asking looking confused.


“You lied about that girl in the movie theater that she was your ‘Close Friend’, I know that girl was your ex girlfriend Josh”
Josh looked really nervous and started explaining to her.





The next day, Elizabeth got to school and saw Josh but didn’t talk to him. She went looking for Josh ex girlfriend to talk about what she and Josh was really talking about. She went to look for her everywhere. When she got to the bathroom Elizabeth saw Lilly.


“Hey, so… your Josh’s ex girlfriend?” Elizabeth asked.


“Yea, Josh texted me saying how mad you were last night when he took you home. He said something about kinda being jealous” Lilly said giggling.


“I WASN’T JEALOUS!!” Elizabeth said yelling.


“Well it seems like it, just admit it” said Lilly.
Elizabeth wanted to punch her so bad but she didn't want to start a fight with her. She walked out of the bathroom instead and went to class. She was still mad. She was too mad to even do her work, so she just sat there thinking about what happened. Before she knew it, class was over. She waited for Lilly in the hallway but then she saw Josh instead. She told Josh about what happened in the bathroom.
“Lilly keeps saying that I was jealous but really I wasn’t.” Elizabeth said with an angry voice.
“Jealous about what?” Josh asked.
“About me being jealous of both of ya’ll talking again.” Elizabeth replied.
“Oh you shouldn’t be jealous about us talking again. I like you and not her. It’s over between me and her.”
When he said that, Elizabeth was shocked. She felt full of joy.
“I like you too,” Elizabeth said. “But I don’t want you talking to Lilly no more.” She rolled her eyes.
“You can’t make me stop talking to Lilly.” Josh was mad but didn't want elizabeth to know he was mad at her for saying that.
“Well I don’t like her at all. I can’t be friends with a girl like her.” Elizabeth said.
“Try getting to know her, she is a really great person” Josh said.
“No I don’t want to because I can tell she is a bad person” Elizabeth said feeling disappointed.
“To bad” Josh said walking away.
Once Josh was walking away, she grabbed his arm and asked him an interesting question.
“So who is it going to be… me or her!?” Elizabeth said with an angry voice.
Josh was so shocked, that he couldn't even answer her. He just stands there looking really nervous.


“Well?” said Elizabeth.


“Ummm… I… I… pick you and you know it” said Josh.
Lilly walked by seeing Josh and Elizabeth arguing. She was hoping that they would end up not talking to each other, but she saw them hugging.


Lilly walked over to Elizabeth and Josh and started a big argument with Elizabeth. Josh backed up and let Lilly talk to Elizabeth.

“You are a dumb girl, you must be the dumbest girl in the world” said Lilly.

“First, I'm not dumb and second, What are you talking about?” Elizabeth looking confused.

“I’m talking about how you don’t see that Josh obviously has feelings for me” said Lilly.

“Ohh he does now?, well then he can go and kiss my ass. THAT JERK!!” said Elizabeth.

Elizabeth smacked Josh and went home early from school. She didn’t want anyone to bring her down and break her heart. Josh and Lilly started being a couple again, but was the meanest couple in school. No one liked them and didn’t want to have anything to do with them. Elizabeth was happy with her friends and was happy she didn’t end up heart broken.
