The False Creed
I think that just because you think you “can’t do something,” does not mean you “shouldn’t try.” Well, those were my dad’s last words to me. I was only six when he died. But now it’s just me and my mom. It’s been a normal life so far, but when something happened at my house, it changed everything. I was at school when it happened, and I was asleep in math class. My friend Nathan woke me up. “What?” I asked. “Ezio, you are leaving school. Go.” The teacher always used my Italian name. I didn’t like it. I was glade that I could go, but I wish I knew why.
When I go to the front door of the school, I saw my mom waiting there. “Hey, mom.” I said. She looked mad. “Come on! We have to go and don’t ask questions.” I walked out of school and saw my uncle standing near the car. “What are you doing here? I thought you lived in Italy?” I asked. “No time, we need to move and now.” I looked at my mom for answers, but she just hugged me and said goodbye. I looked at my uncle and asked, “What’s going on?” He said, “I need to kill three people, and I need your help.” I was shocked. “Why do you need my help?” He looked at me with a cold stare. “Because these people need to die. You know how to fight with hidden blades, right? I taught you how to use them.” He did teach me how to use them. He tossed me one, and I put it on. I knew what we had to do. We got in the car and drove. We didn’t say much on the way to wherever we were going. But finally I asked, “Where are we going?” He replied, “To kill The President. We are almost there, but we won’t infiltrate The White House until midnight. Do you remember what I taught you, right?” “Yes I do, but why are we going to kill the president, we will be the most wanted people in the entire country?” I asked. “For reasons you don’t know.”
We waited for night fall for our infiltration. “Stay close to me as possible,” he said. He ran. I followed him. First we had to get in; there was a party in
The White House, and you needed an invitation to get in, so we stole two other people’s invitations. It was a kid party for I did not know the reason, but I followed my uncle. We got inside without being detected, but I did not know how long we could keep this up. “Hey, I will distract his guards and you will kill the president. No question or I will have to kill you, ok?” I was shocked. I don’t know why I wasn’t shocked before. I nodded my head. My uncle went up and pushed all of the guards and killed two of them and ran. This was my chance to kill The President and get this over with. I walked up to The President and killed him.
Right when I killed him, I woke up from my dream and realized that I slept through math class. “Hey, Jack.” (Jack was my fake name that I used.) When I woke up, I looked around the room and realized that I had a hidden blade on my arm. I knew what I had to do. I had to kill the person whom I hated most, but I had to wait until after school because the kid I want to kill does not go to school often. So I had to devise a plan to kill him. I would walk home instead of taking the bus. It would be a long walk, but I could do it. As I was thinking of my plan, I walked into my next class and sat down. Frank, the kid who sits behind me, tapped me on the shoulder and asked, “What’s on your arm?” After a second, I said, “Nothing that you would care about.” That was the last thing I said before school ended. When I got out of school, I saw the bus waiting for me. I took a while deciding if I should go through with the plan. I decided no. I had a weird dream today, but when I opened my backpack, I saw a note, it read, “It was real. Find the false creed.” I heard a shot, and I was dead.
