Case of Poltergeist
January 10, 1988
Callui sat in her room a sigh leaving her lips as she thought of how she had gotten here.
If it hadn’t have been for a lack of evidence, she wouldn’t be here, waiting for her next evaluation.
As they like to call it here, the test to be normal.
There was nothing normal about this place though, not after what happened.
There was a knock at the door, before it opened and a man with green scrubs came in with a tray.
“It’s time for your medicine.”
December 1, 1987
Callui sat in her room, humming as she knitted a scarf for her mother.
Her mother had been complaining for weeks now that wherever she would go, her neck was never warm.
As she knitted, Callui shivered from a sudden breeze of cold wind.
The wind had felt like it caressed her face, and lingered there as if in longing.
She looked to her window, only to find it shut.
She felt a burning sensation on the back of her neck, as if someone would be staring at her.
When she looked, there was no one to be seen.
December 5, 1987
Callui had been sleeping peacefully, but something seemed to have woken her up, as she jolted awake.
Callui looked up at the ceiling before slowly sitting up, hearing the sound of running footsteps.
Callui knew, that her mother wouldn’t be home tonight, and her father had left a long time ago, so was it a burglar?
The noises passed her bedroom, and ran downstairs for the kitchen before stopping suddenly.
Callui slowly and soundlessly climbed out of the bed as she grabbed the stick that had always been lying around in the room randomly.
She tiptoed to her door, before slowly opening it and slipping out into the hallway.
When she reached the bottom she raised the stick above her head, ready to strike.
But as she reached the kitchen, she saw the lights were off, and there was no one to be seen.
December 10, 1987
Callui sat on the plush couch in the living room doing her homework.
Once again her mom was working nights, and so Callui was left to her own devices for the night.
As she reached the last question, her frustration levels hitting the roof, the lights flickered before completely cutting out leaving her in the darkness of her house.
Screeching before throwing her books across the room, Callui stood up and went to look for the circuit breaker.
As she passed the kitchen, she noticed a glimmer of light on the wall and confused went to investigate.
She stepped into the kitchen, noticing the floor felt cold and wet to her bare feet.
Maybe even a little sticky, but what caught her attention, was the mist rolling around her ankles on the floor.
But the thing was, there were no windows in this room, so where did it come from?
That night she went to sleep uneasy, and maybe just a miniscule amount frightened.
December 14, 1987
Despite her worried state, Callui managed to listen to the fact that her mother had still not been found.
Callui’s mother had gone missing the same night the power went out, but Callui was still in the house until the end of the school year.
Ignoring the dread building in her stomach, Callui closed the door after the cops and went up to her room for a nap.
When she awoke, it was around 3 Am, and once again Callui heard the familiar running footsteps that always seemed to stop in the kitchen.
But this time the steps stopped at her door, and a horrible screeching accompanied with banging was heard.
Callui jumped her heart racing as she scooted across her bed to hide in the corner of the room.
Suddenly everything was silent, but Callui didn’t trust this type of silence.
It was eerie, and frightened her beyond any terror she had ever felt.
Callui slowly climbed out of the bed, and tiptoed to her door.
She opened it, as she came to stand in the doorway, to find nothing there but she found that she still felt jumpy, and it was getting very cold.
She watched her breath, and smelt sulfur in the air, before the dread fell away, and the temperature seemed bearable.
December 19, 1987
Callui looked around her room, surprised that the daily nighttime horrors hadn’t started.
They had been getting worse and worse every night for the past week.
She shivered as the familiar sense of dread settled in her stomach like a stone.
She ignored the footsteps, the screeching, and the banging from in the hallway.
Due to this, everything seemed louder, then the footsteps ran down the stairs, and the sound of glass breaking filled the house.
Callui ran out of her room, and flew down the staris to see the damage this time.
The kitchen was in shambles, and the light was barely still hanging on it’s electric cable.
Under the light that was shooting sparks was a puddle of a red substance.
Next to that on the floor, there was a message carved.
‘How dare you come into my house Leave while I still allow it’
Callui looked at the floor in horror, running back upstairs to her room.
That night, she cried herself to sleep.
December 21,1987
Callui had been sitting in the dining room cautiously after getting home from school eating.
The fork next to her hand had suddenly stabbed her in the shoulder, and a misty image of a furious woman stood before her, looking oddly like her mother.
Callui had rolled away from the apparition, only to go spinning when a chilling gust of wind threw her.
Her head hit the cabinet, and a scream tore from her lips, before she slumped to the floor and everything went black.
December 30, 1987
Callui had opened her eyes to a white room, instantly feeling the pain coursing through her veins like molten lava.
She cried out, and a cop walked in with handcuffs.
“Miss, your being arrested for the murder of your mother, you have the right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.”
The rest of his sentence had been lost, and Callui had passed out from the shock
January 12,1987
Callui sat in the cafeteria area of the room, and sighed hopelessly.
Maybe hse was crazy, but it had seemed so real.
How could she have killed her own mother is what she usually thought about, but she wonder now how they had known her mother was killed.
It seemed as if she'd never find out.
As she sat, a sense of dread filled her stomach, and she looked up in a frenzy of terror.
Where was the apparation now?
