These are a few quotes that have motivated me Jacques Arno Jean-Louis to pursue the game of basketball. Growing up basketball was not really important to me. It was just something I did in gym to get a good grade because all we did in gym was play basketball. I did not really see the excitement in the game. All my friends played the game and they played it a higher level than me. With that I just decided not to play because I flat out just sucked. It was not until I became a freshman in high school when I was watching sports center. They were talking about an upcoming basketball player by the name of Kevin Durant. My older brother was a Kobe Bryant fan so I just followed in his footsteps. So I had that mind set of when it came to basketball if they were not talking about Kobe Bryant then I was not listing. So as I was watching the show I heard this player say a quote that changed my view on the game forever.

I was never really skilled when it came to the game. In other words I did not have the talent of performing at a high level like some of my friends did. So I just chose to not play at all; but when I heard him say that it made me think. “Just because I am not good does that mean I cannot play, does it mean I cannot get better, learn from the beginning, improve my skills and commit to this game and try to make it pro”? So many different questions rushed through my mind. It was then that I made a commitment to myself and to the game that I will put the hard work in to become a better player.

The game is just so fun and threw out the years I have gained a love lie no other for this game. I can play it any time of the day. Every day when I think about me going pro it just gives me chills. Just the thought of me being able to make money and do the thing I love the most is just crazy. I have not yet reached where I want to be skill wise but I get better every day which is a good thing. I love this game and I want to make it my career. All because of that one quote I heard Kevin Durant say.
