A political cartoon are an example of Issue Ads.Issue ads are a big part in campaign financing; campaign financing is all the money that is collected and used to promote the candidate in a political campaign. A political campaign is an arranged try to influence the decision making process within a group. Issue ads display what the candidates are trying to address specific issues and will if elected. Candidates put out issues ads to inform people to notify them about issues that need to be addressed and the effect is they publicize the candidate.
Issue ads typically discuss the candidates in context of issue. These ads are also known as electioneering communications and some ad is not allowed to be funded by large corporations and organizations. People who pay and other groups must advise activity and origin of fund if the payment exceeds a specified threshold.A Ad(Federal Election Commission).Advertisements allows a candidate to reach unmotivated citizens to persuade them to get involved in his/her campaign.(berger-ch 6)
Issue ads are have many restrictions just like many other things. In federal campaigns, ads have to refer to a candidate clearly to be distributed publicly on radio, TV, broadcasts cable, etc. The ad must be published before or after the election. They must be published sixty days prior of a general election or thirty days before a primary election. Mail, telephone, and the internet are not covered by these restrictions.Broadcasts ads by state or local candidates that refer to a federal candidate do not apply.(Federal Election Commission)
Issue ads publicize the candidate in a political cartoon or a commercial.They allow the candidates to reach interested citizens to those who ordinarily pay little attention news reports. To send their message to large amounts of people enables them to be publicize to wide variety of people during campaigns. which is great for the candidate because its important for the candidate to show that he or she cares about the election. To inform people about issues in this country, so they go a country wide tour to win states for votes, promising changes and solving issues(Berger-ch 6)
There are four main types of ads: negative, warm and fuzzy humorous, and scary. A negative ads is if candidates the other by questioning statements in a ad .A warm and fuzzy ad is when the candidate makes the viewers feel so good about the ad the campaign they help. A humorous ad is when the ad makes the viewer smile or laugh, a political cartoon is a great example of this. A scary ado is when the ad fierce and where the ad evoke the images of fear the candidate.(Admin Asp-Action) A name identification ad is early in the campaign, it identifies the candidate/ publicizes the candidate.Later in the campaign, candidates use argument adds, to use ideology to argue. A Little bit later in the campaign, attack/negative ads are used to insult other candidates. At the end of the campaign, positive visionary ads are used to fill people promising thoughts.(Berger-ch 6)
Ads must be closed if the cost or the producing and the airing exceed ten thousand dollars. Documents must identify the person/group making the payment, also any person directing or controlling the activities of that person.the keeper of records for the payer must keep track of the amount of the payments of $100 or also the date of the payment and the person to whom the payment was made to,the names of the people who donated a total of $1,000 or more since January of the last year to the person who paid for the ad.(Federal Election Commission
