The Wedding Day
“You nervous?” My dad asked me. We had just arrived at the venue, and were getting ready to take our wedding pictures (before the sun went down).
“Not at all.” I smiled, looking at him.
“You sure?”
“Positive,” my smile grew wider. “I know I’m making the right choice. I can’t imagine my life without Tim in it.” I explained. My dad looked at me and grinned.
“Well,” he stated, pulling me into a hug. “You and Brittany have great tastes in husbands.” We laughed, and watched as the photographer approached us.
“OK, so Tim is standing over there with his back to us. What I want you to do is come and stand”-She took my arm and pulled me to a spot just a few feet behind and a little to the right of him-“Here.” She took the shots she needed before giving us more instructions. “Ambria, can you walk straight forward until you're directly behind Tim.” I did as told and smiled when I saw his cheek inches away. I leaned over and pressed my lips against it softly, closing my eyes slightly. Our photographer snapped a few pictures before Tim finally turned around and looked at me. As soon as our eyes met we were both smiling uncontrollably. My breath was completely taken away as my eyes looked over the black tux with dark grey shirt and light grey tie. I could feel Tim’s eyes studying my floor length off-white dress with a corset-style top and grey lace that swirled around the skirt. I blushed as his eyes traveled back up to my face. I had a small amount of foundation, cat-eye eyeliner, smoky-but subtle-eyeshadow, and light pink lipstick.
“Wow.” Tim breathed as his face moved closer to mine.
“You look incredible.” I told him as he enveloped me in his arms. I was wearing three inch heels, but I was still small enough to disappear in his hugs.
“You look so beautiful.” He whispered pulling back to look into my eyes, before placing his lips right against mine. “Absolutely stunning.” He whispered again before pressing his lips against mine.
We ended up taking a lot more pictures with both of our families before lining up right inside the building waiting for the music. I had small conversations with my bridesmaids before stopping in front of Amanda; my maid of honor. “Nervous?” She asked me as I played with the bouquet that was in my hands.
“Nope. Super excited. In less than 40 minutes that man is all mine.” She laughed as I took my place behind both of my parents. I had decided I wanted them to walk directly in front of me, and I’d make my way down the aisle on my own. I watched the bridesmaids and groomsmen walked down couple by couple, then Brittany (my Matron of Honor), and Amanda. Finally, my parents walked down, and the music changed. I took a deep breath and took a step forward. I could see the tears in my mother’s, Terri’s, and both of my sisters’ eyes. Even my dad was trying not to cry. I looked around and smiled at a few family members, and the in-laws, before I trained my eyes on my Timothy. He was tearing up too. I smiled and blushed as I made my way closer to the love of my life.
The ceremony was brief, the vows (which were written by us) were super cheesy, and the rings were placed on our fingers. Finally, “I do’s” were said and the words “You make kiss the bride” were spoken. The kiss was filled with emotion. Tim’s lips were warm I could feel the electricity bounce between us. Before long he pulled back just enough to where our lips were barely touching. “You are all mine.” he whispered.
“Forever.” I responded.
“And Ever.”
